Pro-Ject Signature 10 DEMO Turntable with Quintet Black S

The Pro-Ject Signature 10 features a weighted sub-chassis. This gives it a substantial mass effect and lowers the resonant frequency of the whole assembly. The sub-chassis is decoupled from the plinth by 3 sorbothane feet, and this result is further enhanced by magnetic-repulsion feet that decouple the main chassis.

The platter is digitally machined from a solid aluminium block 30 cm in diameter. It is damped along its inner circumference by a silicone seal, and its top receives a compressed vinyl layer that removes the need for a platter mat. It weighs 10.4 kg. This platter is driven, via a round silicone belt, by a motor built to very precise specifications for perfectly fluid rotation. The pivot and the ceramic bearing are magnetically damped by two repulsive magnets.

Speed regulation is handled by two microprocessors coupled to two quartz crystals, allowing 33 and 45 rpm selection with almost no drift.

It comes with the 405 g Signature Puck record weight. Precisely machined from aluminium, it clamps the record firmly onto the platter. The same puck is used on the Pro-Ject Signature 12 turntable. The phono cable supplied by the manufacturer is a Connect It DS 5P.

This is an ex-demonstration unit in perfect working order. It has been serviced by our technical department and shows no defects apart from a few marks of use and some very light micro-scratches. It is delivered complete and ready to use in its wooden case with its accessories. As with every turntable we sell, it is assembled, set up, aligned and tested in our workshop before shipping.

Yes. The Ortofon Quintet Black S is a low-output MC cartridge (0.3 mV): it requires an MC-compatible phono stage with sufficient gain, typically at least 60 dB. If your amplifier does not have a suitable MC phono input, you will need to add a separate phono preamplifier to your system.
