Davis Acoustics Krypton 6 tower speakers

The Davis Acoustics Krypton 6 are elegant three-way floor-standing speakers designed and optimized for use in rooms from 15 to 30 m². This model remains relatively compact, making it easy to place even in smaller spaces.

They are manufactured with the same attention to perfection as the other speakers in the range, the Davis Acoustics Krypton 3 bookshelf speakers, and the Davis Acoustics Krypton 9 floor-standing speakers.

DAVIS ACOUSTICS KRYPTON 6: DESIGN AND FRONT PANEL

This floor-standing speaker comes in relatively small dimensions for this range (89 x 16 x 26 cm). Its very narrow front panel allows for easy placement even in a small room.

The speaker cover is available in black, gray, or tweed jersey, depending on the finish (black, white, or walnut). It is held on the front panel by magnets, which allow the panel to remain completely unmarked when the cover is removed, maintaining the speaker's sleek and contemporary design. It rests on a slightly inclined base, ensuring perfect stability and allowing the speakers to be in perfect acoustic phase.

DAVIS ACOUSTICS KRYPTON 6: SPEAKERS

The Davis Acoustics Krypton 6 floor-standing speaker is equipped with three drivers: the highs are handled by a new 28 mm tweeter with an impregnated fabric dome, providing fine and precise highs. It is paired with a rear decompression chamber.

The resonance frequency has been pushed beyond 24kHz to offer unparalleled clarity and precision and to eliminate distortion in audible high frequencies.

The midrange frequencies are reproduced by a 130 mm Kevlar driver. This 7th-generation membrane is paired with a machined metal dispersion cone, allowing it to reproduce frequencies from 55 to 4000 Hz! However, in this three-way configuration, the crossover limits it from 400 to 4000 Hz.

The bass is managed by a 13 cm cellulose pulp woofer. This driver is housed in a Bass Reflex enclosure with a laminar front port, making speaker placement easier.

These three drivers are surrounded by a circular foam that reduces proximity diffractions to achieve a more defined response.

DAVIS ACOUSTICS KRYPTON 6: CONNECTION AND POSITIONING

The Krypton 6 floor-standing speakers are equipped with a beautiful gold-plated and insulated terminal block (WBT clone). It accepts bare wire, spades, or banana plugs.

We recommend leaving at least 30 cm of space between the speakers and the rear and side walls, and angling them slightly towards the listening area, spacing them 2.5 to 3 meters apart for good sound spatialization and a three-dimensional effect.

DAVIS ACOUSTICS KRYPTON 6: SOUND PERFORMANCE

From the first measurements, we noticed an elegance that has made the brand famous. This is combined with surprising neutrality and musicality.

The bass is defined and precise, never overwhelming, even when the speaker is placed near a wall. The frequency response is very coherent and seems to be reproduced without any anomalies.

The sound is both deep and dynamic, with beautiful stereo image precision. In fact, in this respect, the Davis Krypton 6 floor-standing speakers perform as well as some monitor speakers.

The highs are a real success. They are clean, precise, and offer excellent resolution without ever overemphasizing this range. The midrange is very natural, fast, clear, and present, as with most of the French manufacturer's Kevlar drivers.

The neutral character of this speaker ensures quality reproduction for all musical genres (from classical to rock, including pop, jazz, and world music) and makes it easy to pair with a wide range of electronics.

We achieved excellent results with a Musical Fidelity M2 Si integrated amplifier.

The quality of the drivers used and the optimized design of the crossover allow for long listening sessions without auditory fatigue.

Excellent value for money.
