HP Atlas Hyper Achromatic Z 5.0 cable

The Atlas Hyper Achromatic Z 5.0 speaker cable has been designed to musically improve mid-range quality systems, while offering performance worthy of a “high-end” cable.

This speaker cable is designed with two multi-strand OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) copper conductors with a cross-section of 5 mm². The twin conductors are wrapped with a layer of anti-vibration cotton and a high-efficiency FEP dielectric.

The Atlas Hyper Achromatic Z 5.0 comes in a black finish, and is fitted with stunning Z Plug banana plugs. Z plugs (Atlas proprietary patent) offer low mass and are connected to the conductor by crimping. This makes it possible to overcome traditional welding and its defects.

Hyper Achromatic Z 5.0 offers a large section which also compensates for long lengths. The manufacturer also recommends it in this direction compared to the Hyper Achromatic Z 3.5. But this is not its only interest, because although it limits resistance, its restitution differs on several parameters.

 The Atlas Hyper Achromatic Z 5.0 seems to offer more substance and fullness. The dynamics at the bottom of the spectrum are more obvious. This part is very defined and offers a beautiful presence.

But above all, what is recurring on all the extracts is the gain in depth and sound space. This cable gives a surprising breadth to the music. We notice that all the walls near the speakers seem to have receded or disappeared!

As on all cables from the Scottish manufacturer, we find a superb tone quality. We are seduced by the organic side of the voices and the silkiness of the strings.

The Atlas Hyper Achromatic Z 5.0 is a real success. Its balance makes it very versatile in terms of amp/speaker combination. It will give depth and breadth but also the little “extra” musicality that many systems lack.
