This alignment template uses the classic Baerwald alignment method. It allows you to set the offset angle and null points of a phono cartridge (the two points at which the stylus is perfectly aligned with the record groove). Cartridge alignment is essential for optimal playback, as it ensures that the stylus remains as tangential as possible to the record groove during playback. Correct alignment guarantees the best performance from the cartridge, as it provides optimal tracking and minimises distortion.

As a general rule, if the effective length of the tonearm (the distance between its pivot point and the stylus tip) is between 222 mm and 250 mm, you can use the Baerwald method to align the cartridge.
