The Rega Atlas MK2 tracking force gauge was designed to help adjust the tonearm and provide extreme accuracy for the tracking force applied to the tip of the phono cartridge (MM or MC).
According to Roy Gangy, the Atlas tracking force gauge was born out of frustration of having used an array of stylus gauges that lacked reliability, accuracy and resistance over time.
Rega's engineers have carefully selected each component comprising the electronics of this gauge to optimise the performances and make them last.
The gorgeous aluminium casework accommodates a loadcell and precision amplification circuitry.
The loadcell is designed to compensate temperature gaps. It is also impact resistant. The measurement of this Rega Atlas tracking force gauge is accurate to two decimals places.
It is simple to use: if you have a platter mat, remove it and zero the anti-skate.
Then, place the Rega Atlas on the platter of your vinyl turntable and lower the tonearm queuing device until the stylus rests on the gauge's receptacle. We recommend a settling time of 3 seconds.
The Rega Atlas MK2 tracking force gauge truly departs from the competition with its build quality and measurement accuracy. We heartily recommend it to owners of high-end MC phono cartridges.
We are already using it in our workshop! An absolute benchmark!
