Music Hall mmf 2.3 turntable

The Music Hall mmf-2.3 turntable is a new and improved version of the American brand’s 2.2 model. It is still their entry-level model, but now comes complete with numerous new features, making it an audiophile turntable worthy of the name!

Its MDF plinth is coated with a gorgeous lacquer finish and bears the Music Hall logo, giving it a distinct air of sophistication. It sits on three feet designed by Music Hall itself, and could be described as shortened upside-down pyramids that sandwich a vibration isolation bushing. This design is both aesthetically striking and technically effective. The mmf-2.3 has a suspended synchronous motor, which prevents vibrations being transferred to the turntable. It uses an external 15V DC power supply. It also has a dedicated circuit for a 16V alternating current. The drive pulley has two grooves which enable you to change the speed manually (between 33⅓ and 45 rpm) by moving the belt. The sub-platter bearing is made of bronze and spindle is made of stainless steel, and the whole mechanism has been meticulously milled and lubricated to prevent any unwanted friction. The sub-platter is made of highly durable PVC in order to limit vibration as much as possible.

The alloy platter gives the whole turntable excellent inertia, and is topped with a simple but effective traditional felt mat. The tonearm consists of a carbon fibre tube and aluminium headshell. It has been constructed with the utmost precision to ensure excellent tracking. The phono cable is not captive and is fitted with gold-plated RCA connectors and a fork ground wire. It comes as standard with a translucent dust cover as well as the excellent Ortofon 2M Red cartridge.
