The Pro-Ject Signature 10 has a mass-loaded subchassis. This gives it a significant mass effect and gives the whole assembly a very low resonance frequency. It is decoupled from the plinth by 3 Sorbothane pads. This result is enhanced by the magnetic repulsion feet, which decouple the main chassis.
The platter is CNC-machined from a solid aluminium block 30 cm in diameter. Its inner circumference is damped by a silicone seal. Its top surface receives a vinyl compression layer, which makes a platter mat unnecessary. It weighs 10.4 kg. The platter is driven (via a round silicone belt) by a motor built to very precise specifications, allowing perfectly smooth rotation. The ceramic pivot and bearing are magnetically damped by two repelling magnets.
Speed regulation is handled by two microprocessors coupled with two quartz crystals, which allow selection of 33 and 45 RPM with almost zero drift.
It comes with the 405 g Signature Puck record clamp, precision-machined from aluminium, which holds the vinyl record flat against the platter. It is also found on the Signature 12 turntable.
The phono cable supplied by the manufacturer is a Connect It.

The tonearm accepts cartridges weighing 4.5 to 25 g thanks to the two supplied counterweights (103 g and 145 g). With an effective mass of 18.5 g using the aluminium headshell, it suits low-compliance cartridges.
