The NAD M10 V2 BluOS streaming amplifier has what could be tomorrow’s connected electronics, but today!
This new V2 version is supplied with a remote control, new algorithms and new possibilities for its Dolby Digital surround.
NAD M10 V2 V2 BLUOS: HOUSING
Despite its modest size (215 x 100 x 260 mm), the NAD M10 contains a cutting-edge technology and an abundance of functions.
The metal housing has a textured black paint and a scratch resistant “gorilla” glass pane on top, like on tablets or Smartphones.
The finish is of very high quality.
NAD M10 V2 V2 BLUOS: FRONT PANEL AND BACK PANEL
There’s a large colour touch screen on the front panel allowing to access all functions proposed by the device. It can also be controlled by Alexa or Siri.
On the back of this streaming amplifier, there’s a pair of big gold plated WBT terminals. There is also two RCA analogue inputs and a Pre-Out output, as well as two Sub outputs, an HDMI eARC input and an Ethernet input (RJ45).
The DAC part offers a Type A USB input, a coaxial one (RCA) and an optical one (Toslink).
The main functions and the navigation can be performed by the remote control supplied as standard with the M10 V2.
NAD M10 V2 V2 BLUOS: AMPLIFICATION
The M10 is provided with a Hybrid Digital nCore amplification. It offers an exceptional output as well as an important available power in continue.
It delivers 2 x 100 Watts of power at 4 and 8 Ohms from 20 H to 20 kHz. Thanks to a very high damping factor, its power and stiffness enables it to supply most compact speakers and mid-range tower speakers.
It is equipped with the Dirac Live Room Correction technology. This correction and acoustic calibration system allows to maximize the restitution depending on the room’s acoustic characteristics. It handles frequencies ranging from 20 Hz to 200 Hz.
For this purpose, a micro-USB is supplied with the M10.
NAD M10 V2 V2 BLUOS: COMPATIBILITY
The NAD M10 V2 BluOS is provided with a very high performance ESS Sabre 9028 audio DAC which makes it compatible with the PCM and DSD high-resolution audio files. This DAC handles digital signals with a 32 bits/384 kHz resolution!
It is compatible with most formats (maybe all of them) : MP3, AAC, WMA, OGG, WMA-L, ALAC, OPUS, MQA, DSD, FLAC, WAV and AIFF. Of course, there are also the extracted files via a NAS local network or via a computer connected to the network.
The M10 streaming amplifier is provided with most streaming services and internet radios (TuneIn Radio, iHeartRadio, Calm Radio and Radio Paradis).
NAD M10 V2 V2 BLUOS: CONNECTION
Therefore, the NAD M10 V2 BluOS can connect to a wired Ethernet network, in Wi-Fi and in Bluetooth. Its particularity comes from being aptX and bi-directional. Thus, it can work as a receiver and/or a transmitter. Consequently, we can set a wireless connection with a Smartphone, a tablet but also with a Bluetooth headphone.
The NAD M10 V2 BluOS is provided with the BluOS operating system, which is the only wireless high-resolution multi-room system available as of today. It supports new MQA standard (Master Quality Authenticated) for the high resolution streaming.
The M10 V2 BluOS adds the Dolby Digital surround sound decoding. It is possible to set up a pair of wireless speakers or amplifiers compatible with the Dolby Digital Surround BluOs to handle Surround channels, while the main speakers handle the front channels.
The M10 V2 BluOS is also provided with a Dirac Live license with the possibility for advanced users to change for the Dirac Live Full Frequency version.
NAD M10 V2 V2 BLUOS: TESTING AND LISTENING
The resolution of this NAD M1O V2 BluOS match the means used. The quality is also perfectly worthy of a product from this range.
From the first few measures, we are stunned by the bass quality and its dynamic nature. The dynamic range is formidable and the power reserve sufficient to even pair slightly reluctant Hi-Fi speakers. The width, the accuracy and also the placement of the restitution makes it impressive. The voices are perfectly centered and their presence foster a clear realism.
The timbres are well made and no aggressiveness or treble rising is felt like with some competitive products.
The NAD M10 V2 BluOS streaming amplifier proposed by the NAD manufacturer is a product completely in relation with our era and which meets the expectations of new music lovers…
It’s true that it is no match against high-end separated products, but at this price, it is on top of some overpriced connected products enjoying more marketing than real musicality!
In all honesty however, the modifications compared to the V1 version are too little and don’t bring a lot, it’s not enough for a user having the V1 version to change for the V2.
