GRADO HEMP Limited Edition Headphones

In its relentless quest for experimentation with all types of wood and materials, Grado offers a limited edition made from hemp. This headphone stems from an experiment that has proven to be an undeniable success.

Grado HEMP: Design

This open headphone features hemp shells, which is an unprecedented material for this application. The compressed hemp is very aesthetically pleasing, but more importantly, it offers remarkable acoustic characteristics. The compressed material creates excellent damping effects between the fibers. Grado has added maple to this shell to adjust the balance and timbre. The shells are paired with Grado F earpads. Like most Grado headphones, the headband is made of leather, adorned with white stitching.

Grado HEMP: Technical

The Grado speakers, housed in hemp enclosures, had to be specially designed for this application. These speakers are matched with a precision of 0.05 dB. The connection is made via a robust cable composed of 8 conductors. As always, the Grado Hemp is handcrafted in the historic facility in Brooklyn, USA.

Grado HEMP: Sound Reproduction

The blend of hemp and maple in this limited edition brings a new sonic aesthetic. This highly compressed hemp produces a fuller sound than maple. It offers punchy and precise bass combined with extremely smooth highs. The listening experience is very lively, with a highly realistic and authentic timbre. It is more precise and transparent than the Grado SR325x. The bass response and instrument separation are also significantly superior to the latter. The overall reproduction is rather "soft" but with an excellent level of detail and transparency.
