Description

The Atlas Hyper Achromatic RCA S/PDIF R1 coaxial digital cable is designed to complete high-performance mid-range digital systems. It is recommended to connect a network player or a CD transport to a digital-to-analogue converter.

ATLAS Hyper dd Achromatic X Digital Coaxial Cable (RCA to RCA): features

The Hyper dd Achromatic X Digital Coaxial Cable (RCA to RCA) is designed to be a high-quality connection between a high-resolution streamer or a CD transport and a DAC. The Hyper dd Achromatic X Digital Coaxial Cable (RCA to RCA) is designed to maintain a constant 75-ohm impedance, guaranteeing an error-free transmission of digital signals. Many cables fail to meet the 75-ohm standard because of flaws in the way the cable itself is manufactured and assembled. The solderless RCA connectors avoid the continuity breaks and the compression of the cable's shield that cause impedance problems and lead to added jitter. The Hyper Achromatic X RCA cable benefits from the dual-drain system originally developed by the manufacturer for its high-end interconnects. The shielding is double and symmetrically arranged. Twin symmetrical drain wires connect the shield to the cable's return/socket interface. The benefits lie in maintaining a constant low-impedance load at the plug and a full 360-degree shield against the noise and signal loss caused by RFI (radio interference). The conductors are made of silver-plated OFC copper. The insulation between the signal and the shield braid is made of PEF. One of the essential elements is the connector. The Achromatic X RCA connectors use non-magnetic, low-mass connectors in order to minimise the negative impact of superfluous metal in the plug, which compromises optimal performance. The conductor-to-plug connection is solderless, and the gold-plated mating supports act as a return path for the signal, contributing to the reduction of RFI. These supports hold the cable without compressing it, which preserves its impedance. The plug pins are now made of solid OFC (oxygen-free) copper, rather than hollow copper alloy. In addition, Atlas has adopted a "grooved" pin profile, allowing a more consistent alignment of the conductors during crimping.

ATLAS Hyper dd Achromatic X Digital Coaxial Cable (RCA to RCA) test and listening

The Atlas Hyper dd Achromatic X Digital Coaxial Cable (RCA to RCA) digital cable offers a reproduction of great transparency and remarkable fluidity. The Hyper delivers excellent instrument separation and a very stable stereo image. The bass is precise and well articulated. The treble is detailed, without harshness or artificial brightness. The Hyper dd Achromatic X Digital Coaxial Cable (RCA to RCA) offers a rather neutral and clean sound with remarkable naturalness.

FAQ: Everything you need to know before buying the Hyper dd Achromatic X Digital Coaxial Cable (RCA to RCA) cable

Which components can I connect with the Hyper Achromatic X S/PDIF?

It is a high-quality 75-ohm coaxial digital cable, designed to connect a high-resolution streamer or a CD transport to a DAC, within a high-performance mid-range digital system.

What do the dual-drain system and the 360-degree shielding bring?

Derived from the manufacturer's high-end interconnects, the dual-drain system combines a double symmetrical shield with twin drain wires. It maintains a constant low-impedance load at the plug and a full 360-degree shield against the noise and signal loss linked to RFI, which reduces jitter.

What makes the Achromatic X connectors special?

Non-magnetic and low in mass, they are connected without solder. Their gold-plated supports act as a return path for the signal and reduce RFI, while holding the cable without compressing it in order to preserve impedance. The pins are now made of solid OFC copper, with a grooved profile for a more consistent crimp.

What sound can I expect from the Hyper Achromatic X S/PDIF?

Great transparency and remarkable fluidity, with excellent instrument separation and a very stable stereo image. The bass is precise and articulated, the treble detailed without harshness or artificial brightness, for a neutral, clean and natural sound.
