This speaker cable is designed with two multi-strand OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) conductors with a section of 3.5 mm².

The dielectric consists of polyethylene with very high density (PEF) where, at this price point, PVC is usually found. Low-quality insulation materials like PVC often degrade the audio signal by causing a loss of detail and a musical "blur".

The Atlas Equator Achromatic Z 3.5 is available in a pearl white finish and fitted as chosen with superb Z Plug banana plugs. Z plugs (proprietary Atlas patent) offer low mass and are connected to the conductor by crimping. This eliminates the need for traditional soldering.

The gain in definition and precision is remarkable.

There is better dynamics and, above all, a more structured and "massive" low end. However, the bass remains very articulate and dynamic.

We find the soundstage of the Achromatic Z 2.0, but with a feeling of having much more space between the musicians. We also notice that the wall behind the speakers seems to have receded.

As with all cables from the Scottish manufacturer, one is seduced by the timbre provided by the Atlas Equator Achromatic Z 3.5. Vocals, in particular, have texture and presence. This Atlas model favors the organic side of music without adding coloration or neglecting definition.

The Atlas Equator Achromatic Z 3.5 is a success from every point of view. Its balance makes it very versatile in terms of amp/speaker matching. It will bring relief as well as that extra touch of musicality missing from many systems.
