HP Atlas Equator Achromatic Z 3.5 cable

The Atlas Equator Achromatic Z 3.5 speaker cable has been designed to musically enhance mid-range quality systems, while offering “high-end” performance.

This speaker cable is designed with two multi-strand OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) copper conductors with a cross-section of 3.5 mm².

The dielectric is made of very high density polyethylene (PEF) where, generally, PVC is found at this price. Low quality insulators such as PVC generally degrade the audio signal by imposing loss of detail and musical “fuzziness”.

The Atlas Equator Achromatic Z 3.5 is offered in a pearl white finish and fitted with your choice of superb Z Plug banana plugs. Z plugs (Atlas proprietary patent) offer low mass and are connected to the conductor by crimping. This eliminates the need for traditional welding.

Replacing “cheap” speaker cables with the Atlas Equator Achromatic Z 3.5 is obvious! 

The gain in definition and precision is remarkable.

We observe better dynamics and above all a more structured and “massive” bottom of the spectrum. However, the bass remains very articulate and dynamic.

We find the soundstage of the Achromatic Z 2.0, but with a feeling of having much more space between the musicians. We also notice that the wall behind the speakers seems to have moved back.

As with all cables from the Scottish manufacturer, we are seduced by the tone offered by the Atlas Equator Achromatic Z 3.5. The voices in particular have substance and presence. This Atlas promotes the organic side of music without adding color or neglecting definition.

The Atlas Equator Achromatic Z 3.5 is a success in every way. Its balance makes it very versatile in terms of amp/speaker combination. It will give depth but also that little extra musicality that many systems lack.
