The Nordost Purple Flare 3 loudspeaker cable is one of the heirs to the famous ‘Flatline’ loudspeaker cable designed by Nordost in the early 90s. This cable's design and technology were unprecedented at the time and enabled it to offer a level of performance and musicality that was unique in its time.

Nordost loudspeaker cables have a flat profile. The 99.99999% pure OFC copper conductors are solid core and have a high quality silver plating. The cable is made up of 16 single-stranded conductors of 0.205 mm² each. They are placed and insulated in an extruded fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) sheath. This technology is an elegant and unique response to the contradictory requirements of low resistance, capacitance and inductance. These technical characteristics limit the performance of conventional cables. Nordost Purple Flare 3 is factory assembled with high quality gold-plated copper banana connectors.

Nordost designers leave no stone unturned when designing and evaluating the musicality of a cable. Replacing our standard cables with Nordost Purple Flare showed a significant improvement in definition and precision in the first few minutes of listening. There was also a clear improvement in the nuance and harmonic richness of the vocals and strings. The background is also much more legible and obvious. This can also be felt in the soundstage and the placement of the different sections. Dynamics are excellent and, above all, perfectly distributed throughout the spectrum. The bass in particular seems fuller, with remarkable impact. Transients also seem much more rapid and pronounced. The midrange/treble is very transparent and smooth at the same time. The Nordost Purple Flare 3 is an undeniable success. It offers remarkable objective performance, and its neutrality makes it very versatile.
