This power cable uses Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors, combined with a Long-Grain Copper (LGC) core. This geometry significantly reduces transient intermodulation distortion (TIM).
While many power cables focus on low resistance to meet high current demands, a cable’s characteristic impedance is also crucial for delivering optimal performance.
Unlike most cables that compress transients, AudioQuest power cables combine low DC resistance with near-zero characteristic impedance, allowing high-current transients to pass without compression.
The cable is fitted with premium AudioQuest Wind XTRM Schuko and IEC C19 connectors, featuring suspended silver conductors, cold-welded to red copper and beryllium.
AudioQuest Wind Blizzard XTREM: Shielding & DBS
The cable incorporates AudioQuest’s proprietary DBS (Dielectric-Bias System). An external module applies a constant 72V bias to the cable’s shielding. All shields also include a dielectric whose electrical properties directly affect signal integrity.
DBS-polarized shielding (AudioQuest patented) creates a powerful and stable electrostatic field that polarizes the insulation, minimizing noise and preventing RF interference from entering sensitive electronics.
The DBS batteries have an estimated lifespan of approximately 10 years, and a test button on the module allows easy battery status verification.
