The Gigawatt Powerprime power conditioner is the first model offered by the Polish manufacturer Gigawatt, designed to provide effective surge protection while delivering clean and filtered power to devices.

GIGAWATT POWERPRIME POWER CONDITIONER: ENCLOSURE

All components of the device are housed in a new rigid chassis made of steel/aluminum, featuring a modular structure for assembling sockets in different standards. The chassis is equipped with anti-vibration feet to isolate the device from unwanted interferences originating from the floor or support surface. The front panel is crafted from a single piece of high-quality aluminum, anodized in black or silver.

The Gigawatt Powerprime power conditioner is equipped with six Schuko G-040 format power outlets. The brass connectors are silver-plated without the use of intermediate metals like copper or nickel layers, which could introduce series resistance. This thick layer of silver ensures perfect contact with the socket pins. Additionally, the outlets undergo cryogenic treatment and demagnetization.

The power conditioner includes a system indicating improper device connection to the mains. A red indicator light at the rear signals incorrect power polarity, improper grounding, or simply a lack of grounding.

GIGAWATT POWERPRIME POWER CONDITIONER: TECHNOLOGY

The Gigawatt Powerprime power conditioner is based on a new RLC filtering architecture. The device does not include traditional protection elements such as thermal fuses, which can restrict current flow and negatively affect sound reproduction.

Surge protection is handled by an integrated protection block within the filter, equipped with plasma spark gaps and a new generation of UltraMOV varistors. These elements, combined with an optimized and properly executed electrical architecture, ensure comprehensive protection against surges and overcurrents.

Interference suppression is achieved through a filtering system built with premium class capacitors and IP (Iron Powder) filter cores, among others. The filtering system is activated by a high-current relay with silver contacts featuring a large surface area and a 4000VA switching capacity.

All electronic components of the filter are mounted with silver solder on PCBs with extremely wide copper conductive tracks. Short connections reduce transition resistance and significantly increase the current capacity of the entire filter.

The Gigawatt Powerprime uses a buffer system with a GigaWatt Audio Grade compensation battery, enhancing current efficiency for nonlinear loads such as power amplifiers.

Internal wiring is based on GigaWatt Powerlink cables made of OHFC copper with a cross-section of 4 mm².

The Gigawatt Powerprime power conditioner noticeably improves transparency and detail retrieval without exaggeration. The soundstage is wider, deeper, and notably more precise.

Room reverberations and ambiance are more distinct. Additionally, there's a discernible "softer" and more analog sound character, particularly noticeable with digital sources (DACs, network players, etc.).

There's no perceived dynamic compression; on the contrary, the reproduction remains lively with well-marked tempos.

Overall, the Gigawatt Powerprime power conditioner offers most of the advantages and strengths of significantly more expensive conditioners.
