The device's case is made from a block of aerospace-grade aluminium. It is precision-machined using CNC techniques. More than 50% of the front panel is occupied by a large, high-resolution 15 cm colour touchscreen. It combines practicality and aesthetics. From the very first tracks, the Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen2 delivers highly faithful and accurate sound reproduction. It captures every detail of the recording.
In terms of musicality, it is a clear improvement over the non-Master Edition version. In terms of overall performance and sound quality, there's no contest. The reproduction is more refined and the “coldness” of the standard model seems to have faded. It seems to have eliminated digital distortion and the conversion appears to be more efficient and, above all, different, even though the DACs used are the same.
With classical music, it delivers a very musical reproduction that is clear, precise and stable. The soundstage is surprising in both width and depth. There is a lot of space between the different instruments. This is even more spectacular with live recordings.
However, the overall reproduction seems a little less neutral than the Bluesound Icon, even though the latter offers fewer possibilities and a less flattering appearance.
Nevertheless, the Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen2 is an exceptional and remarkable device thanks to its features, compatibility, screen, design, excellent application and price...
