For the signal to be as slightly deformed, modified or coloured as possible, Ortofon used the best available coils, the ones manufactured by the famous Lundahl high end transformer manufacturer.

The unit itself is manufactured by a major specialist of mu-metal shielding.

The internal connectors were particularly designed for providing the most rapid and straight signal transfer as possible.

The RCA sockets are of excellent quality, plated or with a PTFE insulator. It is possible through an internal jumper to select two different gain levels (24 dB or 30 dB).

Ortofon Verto: listening and review

We have associated with an integrated amplifier having an MM phono input of good quality and a low output MC cartridge.

After having adapted the gain (with our 24 db cartridge), from the first measures, we note an outstanding sound stage, it spreads out with a surprising width and depth. Yet it remains very precise and realistic.

The frequency response of Verto is absolutely not shortened and the dynamic range is not compressed, in contrast with what can be found with some transformers.

It must be noted that its neutrality enables it to move aside and let the phono cartridge express itself.
