Following the well-deserved success of the Aurorasound HFSA-01, the Japanese manufacturer returns with a more ambitious model featuring "Full Tube" technology.
Aurorasound HFSA-02: Chassis
The HFSA-02 amplifier features a chassis made of 22 mm thick solid maple. The top plate is crafted from 4 mm solid aluminum, providing the amplifier with a perfectly rigid and non-deformable structure. This chassis supports the massive power transformer and the vacuum tubes.
Aurorasound HFSA-02: Connections
This Aurorasound is equipped with 4 RCA line inputs. It is also available in a version with a MM phono stage + 3 RCA line inputs.
The speaker terminals are carefully selected and gold-plated on thick panels.
The power inlet follows the IEC-C13 format, allowing for the addition of a high-quality aftermarket power cable.
Aurorasound HFSA-02: Technology
The input stage utilizes ECC83 and ECC82 tubes. These tubes drive the output stage, which consists of an EL34 push-pull configuration. The output transformers are manufactured by Lundahl. This setup delivers an output power of 31 W + 31 W. The power transformer and the choke transformer are custom-made in Japan for Aurorasound.
The resistors are sourced from Vishay, PRP, and TAKMAN (Japan), while the film capacitors are from WIMA (Germany) and the electrolytic capacitors from TDK-EPCOS. Aurorasound places great importance on the quality and reliability of the components used. The rectifier diodes are ROHM silicon carbide models, offering the lowest noise and best voltage capacity to date.
The EL34 tubes feature an auto-bias system that requires no manual adjustment.
