The Bluesound Powernode amplifier is an improved version of the Bluesound’s best buy. In reality, it takes 98 % of the functions and performances of the Powernode 2i.

The three main improvements are the adding of an eArc HDM input/output, a new control touchscreen and the addition of the new ARM® CORTEX™ A53, 1.8 GHz processor!

We also notice an increase in power of 20w per channel, which is now 80w / 8 ohms.

BLUESOUND POWERNODE: COMPATIBILITY

It takes all the functions of the Bluesound Node. It allows you to listen to streaming music and be connected to Internet radios as well as online music services.

The Bluesound Powernode is also compatible with compressed formats such as MP3 format and most of the available formats. However, Bluesound created it above all for music in High Definition studio-master.

It also allows the access to your iTunes library and audio files downloaded and stored on your NAS USB. Without use a computer, you have access to your music library.

BLUESOUND POWERNODE: CHARACTERISTICS

You can connect this Bluesound Powernode amplifier to various Bluesound speakers. Now, you can share your music and stream with a studio quality in all the rooms of your home.

For that, Bluesound has equipped its Powernode with an exclusive Hybrid Digital amplification, designed by NAD Electronics, the subsidiary. The power of 2 x 80 watts in 8 ohms is comfortable enough to power most the 2-way Hi-Fi speakers, even the small audiophile tower speakers. This one is associated to a DAC offering a 32 bit 192 kHz resolution.

This amplification brings excellent dynamics, precision and current capacity to the HD listening. It allows for high volume listening without distortion or dynamic compression.

The Bluesound Powernode processes HD audio files up to resolutions of 24 bit/192 kHz of FLAC, ALAC or WMA-Lossless types, and shared of your local network, as long as it is connected to it.

BLUESOUND POWERNODE: INSTALLATION

The Bluesound Powernode amplifier is simply an integrated amplifier! You just have to connect it to the network and link it to a pair of Hi-Fi speakers to enjoy its musicality!

Finally, just connect to the network via RJ45 socket or Wifi. Indeed, the Bluesound Powernode allows you to use your home wireless network. It can be connected via Bluetooth aptX 5.0 HD.

The technology of the Wifi antenna is very developed and the ARM Cortex9 processors are very fast, this ensures a reproduction without cut and latency in all the rooms of your home, even with HD audio files. You can synchronize music anywhere at home with multiple Bluesound players and choose different songs in different places.

The HDMI eArc connector allows the connection of a television or a digital video source.

BLUESOUND POWERNODE: TEST AND LISTENING

There is a surprising restitution for a small box. The music is reproduced with clarity, definition and dynamism. It is more powerful as the files used are of high resolution.

The bass is articulated and dynamic. The midrange/treble is clear and perfectly integrates to the registers, without aggressiveness. It enables HD music reproduction with an outstanding musicality.

With HiRes files, the Bluesound Powernode amplifier widens the gap with the competition, such as Sonos products (without naming them). The balance is very successful and we quickly forget that we are listening to a device for less than 1000 euros!
