The Revival Audio Atalante 4 are 3-way/4-driver floorstanding speakers that all feature the technology of the manufacturer's ATALANTE range.

With nearly four decades of experience, and the design of the most renowned tweeters in the world, Daniel Emonts designed the Atalante tweeter without any compromise.

This 28mm soft dome super tweeter is RASC treated. It also features the patented ARID (Anti-Reflection Inner Dome) technology. The rear chamber of the speaker incorporates a “BCD” damping system designed to absorb more than 95% of the resonances generated by the moving parts. This allows for a very low resonance frequency (560Hz!). Its asymmetrical suspension provides a more linear guidance without dome resonance. An oversized ferrite magnet (10cm circumference) allows for an efficiency of 91dB.

The midrange is entrusted to a superb 13.5 cm speaker equipped with a BSC (Basalt Sandwich Construction) cone. This technology is unique and unprecedented in high-fidelity. This material allows for a superb compromise between rigidity and lightness. This allows for a fast and smooth response with excellent dynamics. This extract from lava stone offers characteristics similar to fiberglass but with a better Young's modulus (mechanical stress). It is also an eco-sustainable material. The Sandwich construction of the cone consists of 3 layers: a specially defined felt is applied to the back of the basalt cone and a specialized polymer glue is placed between the two, which allows for the best possible damping.

The bass is reproduced by two superb 18 cm speakers equipped with a BSC (Basalt Sandwich Construction) membrane. The BSC, with its lightness and rigidity, gives an excellent transient response, fast and fluid with deep, dynamic and tense bass. These speakers are equipped with oversized ferrite magnets that reach a diameter of more than 15 cm! They are connected to a very open chassis with 10 branches.

At Revival Audio, the crossover is designed by listening, placing real components on a test board and measuring and listening to the results of each modification. This allows for precise optimization that is fully aligned with the speakers and the load. Revival always tries to use as few components as possible to preserve signal integrity. For the internal wiring, the designer chose Van Den Hul Skyline Hybrid cables.

Revival Audio Atalante 4: Box Set

The Atalante 4 revival was created in collaboration with A+A COOREN DESIGN STUDIO in Paris. The cabinet is veneered in genuine light or dark walnut wood. A horizontal stripe and the logo (laser-engraved) made of a different wood species are inlaid between the tweeter and the midrange.

If you don't want to see the speakers, you can hide them behind two fabric grilles attached by magnets.

The speakers are asymmetrical and are labeled "right/left" for optimal placement. The tweeters are therefore placed outside the listening area. In certain (specific) cases, the manufacturer recommends reversing them.

The rear of the speaker features a high-quality single-wire terminal block. This is compatible with banana plugs or spades. Above it is the opening for a large vent that justifies the bass/reflex load.

The entire box rests on a superb cast aluminum base equipped with 4 brass cones which provide effective decoupling on the ground.

Revival Audio Atalante 4: Test and listening

We positioned the Revival Audio Atalante 4s 80 cm from the back wall and spaced them 3 m apart. To maintain consistency, we paired the Revival Audio Atalante 4s with a transistor and tube amplifier costing around €5,000.

In our 45 square meter listening room, the Revival Atalante 4 speaker fills the space with great ease. A fairly simple positioning ensures a very precise and structured placement of the soundstage. Like all products of this quality, the Atalante 4 requires a good thirty hours of break-in to achieve perfect homogeneity. We discover a more nuanced

restitution and better bass performance after several dozen hours of listening. The transitions between the speakers are completely inaudible. We have the impression of listening to only one "big" speaker!

As in the entire range, we find a precise and soft treble at the same time! It offers an uncommon harmonic richness.

These speakers are aimed at music lovers looking for high-performance, high-class reproduction, and in this price range, candidates are rare.

The Atalantes 4 are sufficiently neutral to allow any repertoire to be reproduced with disconcerting ease and offering a significant sound level and surprising dynamics. We find ourselves transported to the concert hall! But without exaggerated bass and with a level ofremarkable details.

These speakers are certainly the best French creations of the moment.

We recommend them without any moderation! For us, the Revival Atalante 4 are the benchmark in terms of musicality and performance at the price offered! The "real" competitors are 25 or 30% higher in terms of price!
