SONUS FABER SONETTO V G2 : DESIGN

The Sonetto V G2 features the distinctive boat-hull shape characteristic of the brand’s latest models, with numerous modifications and improvements. It stands as a fairly imposing speaker, measuring 1.10 meters in height and weighing over 33 kg. Like all Sonus Faber speakers, the Sonetto V G2 is beautifully crafted, available in finishes such as Black Lacquer, Wenge, and Walnut. The surround of the midrange/tweeter is covered in leather. This "true" 3-way bass-reflex speaker is designed for large rooms with a minimum size of 22 m².

SONUS FABER SONETTO V G2 : DRIVERS

Bass reproduction is handled by two 165 mm cellulose fiber drivers with a new die-cast aluminum chassis, ensuring high rigidity, low resonance, and light weight. These drivers have their own filtering and are housed in their own cavity. The bass-reflex port opens under the speaker, radiating 360° at its base. The midrange is handled by a specific driver, specially developed for the Sonetto V and VIII. It features a 165 mm white cellulose fiber "Camelia" membrane. Its black rubber surround is connected to the cone by a floral pattern. This asymmetric shape disrupts circular modes, ensuring more linear movement and improved sound reproduction by reducing interference and enhancing dispersion. This driver is placed in its own closed cavity made of cork with a unique wave-shaped acoustic treatment. It is filtered between 280 and 2500 Hz. The highs are managed by a superb 28 mm DAD dome tweeter. To limit distortions and disturbances in the high frequencies, this tweeter is isolated from the cabinet by a viscoelastic joint and is filtered at 2.5 kHz. The base of the Sonetto V G2 is made of a concrete composite, enhancing stability and structural integrity, thus ensuring rigidity. This innovative addition minimizes vibrations, ensuring optimal performance. The base is equipped with decoupling spikes for improved sound reproduction. The drivers can be hidden behind three rigid black jersey grilles, attached magnetically.

SONUS FABER SONETTO V G2 : INSTALLATION

Setup is relatively straightforward, though it requires some care. For optimal results, pairing with a high-quality amplifier and source is recommended. Placement is crucial for these speakers, with results varying from acceptable to remarkable depending on optimization and placement. Excellent results were achieved by spacing the speakers 3 meters apart and positioning them 80 cm from the rear wall.
