The Davis Acoustics Courbet N°3 bookshelf speakers are the direct descendants of the renowned Olympia One Master. The Courbet N°3 is the flagship model in this range, featuring high-end speakers designed and manufactured in Troyes.

Design and Front Panel:

The Courbet N°3 boasts a modern design with a robust and compact enclosure. Its dimensions (34 x 17.5 x 25 cm) are standard for monitors in this class, making it easily fit on a console or shelf, though dedicated stands are recommended.

Both the front and rear panels of the speaker are slightly tilted backwards to reduce internal standing waves, reinforced by stiffened walls.

The speaker grille, in black jersey fabric regardless of the finish, attaches magnetically to the front panel. Removing it leaves the front panel clean, maintaining the speaker's sleek, contemporary design.

Speakers:

The Davis Acoustics Courbet N°3 features 2 transducers: a 28 mm soft dome tweeter (TW28CD) for smooth and precise high frequencies, aided by a rear decompression chamber and strong magnetic circuit for focused field.

The resonance frequency has been pushed beyond 25kHz to ensure unmatched clarity, precision, and distortion-free high frequencies.

Medium and low frequencies are handled by a single 130 mm Kevlar woofer with a machined metal dispersion bullet, enabling linear reproduction from 55 to 3500 Hz.

Both speakers are surrounded by a specialized circular foam to minimize proximity diffractions for a more defined response.

The speaker is Bass Reflex loaded with a circular vent on the rear.

Connection and Placement:

The Courbet N°3 is equipped with a high-quality gold-plated terminal covered in carbon, accepting bare wire, spade connectors, or banana plugs.

Recommended placement includes at least 30 cm of space from rear and side walls, slightly angled towards the listening area for optimal spatialization and three-dimensional soundstage. Ideally, they should be placed on sturdy acoustic stands around 60 cm tall, or spaced at least 2 meters apart on a shelf or console.

Sound Reproduction:

The Courbet N°3 is straightforward to drive and set up in small rooms, benefiting from high-quality amplification with sufficient current.

It delivers a magnificent soundstage and superb transparency with delicate, natural reproduction that enhances instrument realism. The midrange is organic and well-integrated with bright, smooth high frequencies.
