The Pro-Ject DAC Box S USB has retained the same housing as the USB Box S, but has two additional digital inputs (one RCA coaxial and one optical). The USB Box S doesn’t have a source selector on the front panel as it is not designed for audio conversion through a computer, but the DAC Box S USB can accommodate up to three digital sources. It has a resolution of up to 24 bits/96 kHz for the optical and coaxial inputs.
The DAC Box S USB is a digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) with three digital inputs: one mini USB input, one optical input and one coaxial input. The USB port accepts digital signal with a resolution and sampling rate of up to 16 bits/48 kHz. It also has a gold-plated RCA stereo analogue output, so it can be connected to an integrated amplifier, preamplifier or audio/video amplifier. The housing is made of metal and wards off all interference and vibration that could affect the audio signal. On the front panels is an On/Off button and a button for selecting between the three available sources. Three small blue LED lights indicate the selected source.
