High-end American brand McIntosh has been satisfying audiophiles across the globe for nearly 60 years now. With the release of the McAire, McIntosh has now opened the doors to excellent wireless sound quality to even more satisfied customers.
Like all McIntosh products, the McAire is immediately recognisable by its two signature blue meters on the front panel. Underneath these iconic meters, there is both a source selection dial and volume control. The McAire McIntosh functions as both an integrated amplifier and a pair of speakers, and is fitted with AirPlay technology. This means you can play your music through your WiFi network using a Mac or PC (if you use iTunes), or even your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch. You can also play it through an iPod Classic or Nano using the USB input provided for this purpose. The McAire has an integrated WiFi antenna and an RJ45 Ethernet port if you wish to connect it to your local network. There is also an RCA auxiliary input if you wish to connect it to another source (TV, CD player, etc.). Multiple McAire systems can also be synced to one device, creating complete in-house multi-room playback.
The McAire has two 10cm woofers, two 5cm midrange drivers, and two 1.8cm tweeters. It has a power output of 2 x 30W. The sound quality produced by this system is quite simply incredible, with all of the full-bodied sound quality we have come to expect from Mc Intosh. It’s also worth mentioning that the company has also developed an iOS app which also features its famous blue meters.
The all-in-one McAire AirPlay Integrated Audio System by McIntosh is a compact, 14 kg system that is hand-built in the United States with undeniably excellent production quality. And once it’s all set up, the sound quality it produces oozes with musicality. A must! Franck
