The most recent addition to the Austrian brand’s Essential range is the Pro-Ject Essential II Digital manual turntable. And it has certainly retained all of the musical and technical capabilities of the Essential II and Essential II USB. The main advantage of this product is the digital optical output, which allows you to connect it to equipment that does not have analogue inputs. The manual RPM 3 Carbon turntable by Pro-Ject is one of our favourite top picks. It was created to incorporate all of the elements of the RPM turntable series, which began with the legendary RPM 1 Carbon turntable and culminated in the RPM 10.1 Evolution turntable. This is a high quality intermediate option, and is the only record player in its range with a 10-inch S-shaped tonearm and an Ortofon 2M Silver cartridge.
