The new REL T/7x subwoofer enclosure benefited from the research and results obtained with previous generations and the most ambitious ranges.
This allowed the optimization of the speakers, the amplifier, the filtering, and the enclosure.
REL T/7x : Box
Le REL T/7x It comes in a very compact but also relatively "massive" and rigid form. It is schematically a cube with a 35 cm edge that offers a mass of more than 17 kg!!!
On the front, there is a 20 cm speaker and below the enclosure another speaker (passive radiator) with a diameter of 25 cm. The REL T/7x comes with a speaker grille covered in jersey. REL offers this cabinet in two finishes made with 5 layers of white or black piano lacquer.

On the back of the box, there is a connection and control panel. For inputs, there is a high-level connection in Speakon format, and an LFE input in RCA. Additionally, there is a low-level stereo input in RCA.
The settings are those typically found on this type of product: a Hi/Low level, an LFE level, a filtering adjustment (30/120Hz), and a phase adjustment (0/180 °).

Le REL T/7x is equipped with a amplifierClass A/B 200 W. This one is derived from the amplifiers Class A/B used in all generations of Série T since 2006. The reliability of this amplifier is well established with more than 200,000 units produced!
This amplifier is powerful enough to drive the new 20 cm speaker.
It is equipped with a brand new cone in FibreAlloy™ which offers very high rigidity and better excursion of the speaker for more impact and dynamics.
It is not associated with a sealed or Bass/Reflex enclosure as is often the case. The main speaker is supported by a 25 cm passive radiator, also with a cone made of FibreAlloy™. It is equipped with specific suspension settings that offer a perfectly linear travel.
This technology used allowed for unexpected bass down to 30hz (-6dB) for a subwoofer of this size !
REL T/7x: Test and listening
In nature and especially during a concert, bass occurs in three dimensions: width, depth, and height.
By adding such a subwoofer enclosureTo your system, you increase the stereo perception by spectacularly enhancing both the width and the depth.
Adjustment is essential, and it is necessary to spend some time adapting the filter and gain to your room and your speakers. But with listening to well-chosen tracks, it is quite easy to achieve.
Peu de subwoofer At this price, they offer such depth. Moreover, its speed and articulation are remarkable.
REL managed to propose a caisson which offers a perfect synergy between it, the speakers, and the amplification.
It shows little coloration and if any appears, it is often generated by the amplifier or the source.
Le REL T/7x subwoofer enclosure gives the impression of having bigger speakers. The playback seems more beautiful and above all more natural. An improved midrange is noticeable due to the addition of these harmonics, which are often missing in reproduction and give it a "cold" and aggressive aspect.
Of course, it makes perfect sense in the lower spectrum by developing bass lines or percussion with unsuspected breadth.
Whether you choose just one T/7x or a pair in stereo, in this range I don't see any serious competition.

J'ai eu la chance de pouvoir m'en acheter une paire pour une pièce de 45 m². Les caissons sont à côté des deux enceintes, à l'extérieur avec les HP dans le même plan. Déphasage réglé à 0°, crossover à 10h (60 hz), level à midi, ça marche incroyablement bien et mieux surement qu'un seul Rel T/9x. Quand on y a gouté, impossible de revenir en arrière, les caissons se font oubliés même si je sais bien que mon son n'est pas le même qu'avant. Ils sont très bien construits et ils sont très beaux. J'ai eu d'excellents conseils de Franck que je remercie encore pour sa disponibilité au téléphone et pour sa grande compétence. La livraison fût rapide et les produits très bien emballés. Si vous hésitez, n'hésitez plus!
