Acoustic Signature Grip-S: Technology

The Grip-S's innovative design is built around Acoustic Signature's Silencer technology. This involves integrating specific copper modules into the clamp's body to fully absorb unwanted resonances.

Weighing 752 grams, the Grip-S is suitable only for non-suspended turntables with a platter offering a minimum mass of 5kg.

The Grip-S locks firmly onto the platter spindle with just a quarter turn. Unlike many other record clamps, it doesn't need to be fully unscrewed. The Grip-S is made from a high-quality, heat-treated aluminium alloy. CNC machining ensures absolute precision.

Acoustic Signature Grip-S: Performance

To properly assess what this record clamp brings to the table, we tested it with an Acoustic Signature Typhoon Neo and a Pro-Ject Signature 12.2 turntable.

From the very first measurements, without any doubt, the bass is noticeably cleaner, better controlled and, above all, far more readable and "physical".

Added to this is a better focus on individual instruments and a more stable, slightly wider stereo image. The Grip-S appears to reduce crosstalk between the two channels.

Micro-details are easier to perceive, particularly in reverbs and the ambience of the recording room and session.

On certain recordings, the sound can appear calmer, cleaner, and also more nuanced and neutral. It eliminates surface noise and smooths out playback irregularities.

Of course, with a slightly warped record these improvements can be even more spectacular, though on a perfect record they remain very clearly perceptible.

The Acoustic Signature Grip-S genuinely presses the record against the platter, thereby improving cartridge tracking.
