Nordost Red Dawn 3 : Construction

The Nordost Red Dawn 3 Power cord uses 3 conductors with a cross-section of 3.3 mm2. These are made of 168 strands of 99.9999% pure OFC copper. The electrical insulation is made of FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene).

The capacitance is around 8 PF and the resistance below 2 Ohms, which is remarkable for a cable in this range.

It has a gold-plated proprietary Schuko plug and a 15A IEC C13 plug.

On this latest version, the cable has two black ferrite-like rings.

Nordost Red Dawn 3: Restitution

The Nordost Red Dawn cable offers great performance and its contribution to a system is very significant. It gives a superb balance to the reproduction, with in particular a very precise and realistic midrange/treble associated with an articulate and very dynamic bass.
