The new Atoll AM200 EVO power amplifier is based on the amplifier part of the Atoll IN200 EVO integrated amplifier, but with a few functional modifications.

The Atoll AM200 EVO features a high-quality, 8mm-thick aluminum front panel and a 1.5mm-thick metal chassis. The rigidity of the whole prevents any mechanical vibrations.
The top of the device is perforated for better heat dissipation.
Only one LED is present on the front panel, with the power switch on the back.

Internally, the Atoll IN200 EVO layout is repeated.
The audio stages are equipped with shielded MKP Mundorf capacitors, similar to those used on the IN300 integrated amp, which improve the signal-to-noise ratio and, above all, musicality.
All stages are dual-mono, powered via two 340VA toroidal transformers. These two high-value transformers provide comfortable power handling. The Atoll AM200 EVO boasts a total capacitance of over 59,400 microfarads!
The differential input stages are bipolar transistors, while the output stages are MosFet transistors. ESR capacitors are made to Atoll's specifications.
The Atoll AM200 EVO delivers 120Wrms/8Ω and 200Wrms/4Ω power, i.e. 2 x 50W in pure class A, gravely a double Push Pull of Mos-Fet transistors. This means it can be used with a wide range of Hi-Fi speakers, even those with a reputation for being difficult to drive.
It's also possible to bridge it in Mono and obtain over 200w at 8 ohms.

Listening to this Atoll AM200 EVO power amp, we find all the qualities that made its predecessor such a success, but with clear improvements in terms of transparency and dynamics.
And, of course, there's the trademark neutrality.
Bass response is exceptional for a product in this range. It's as good as many competitors advertising a price 2 or 3 times higher!
This Atoll AM200 EVO power unit makes it possible to build an audiophile system with very high-end sound reproduction, and for a very reasonable budget considering the quality of manufacture (Made in France!) and the musicality on offer.

fidèle et équilibré
Après une semaine de rôdage, voici mon humble avis. Je l'ai couplé avec le streamer-préampli Atoll St 200. Ce couple fonctionne très bien d'un point de vue ergonomique: une seule télécommande suffit !
Au niveau du son, je le trouve très bien adapté à la musique classique (que j'écoute en majorité). Les timbres sont rendus avec grande justesse, sans coloration superflue. Les graves sont présents sans ostentation, et les aigus n'ont pas d'agressivité. L'image stéréo est précise et détaillée.
Au niveau du rendu global, j'en suis très satisfait, malgré un côté peut-être un peu "protestant": pas de séduction facile et un médium moins charnu et soyeux que celui que j'obtenais auparavant avec un ampli à tube Primaluna. Peut-être prévoir un cable légèrement chaud comme les Cardas, par exemple pour donner un supplément d'âme...
