What condition is this used Pro-Ject RPM 9.1 in?
It is in perfect working order and flawless cosmetic condition, and comes in its original packaging. The turntable has been fully checked and serviced (tonearm, bearing, lubrication), with a new belt and a new Connect It E phono cable. Like all our second-hand deals, it is assembled, set up and tested in our workshop before shipping, and carries a 1-year parts and labour warranty.
Which cartridge is fitted, and can its stylus be replaced?
It comes with a new Ortofon 2M Silver, a moving magnet cartridge with an elliptical stylus, a 5 mV output and a weight of 7.2 g. Its recommended tracking force is 1.75 g. The stylus is replaceable: a 2M Red or 2M Blue stylus will fit.
Do I need a phono preamplifier to use it?
The 5 mV signal from its MM cartridge needs a phono stage: either your amplifier's phono input, if it has one, or an external phono preamplifier. We suggest pairing it with the Pro-Ject Tube Box S2 phono preamplifier, which is compatible with MM cartridges.
Which cartridges can be fitted to its 9cc tonearm?
The 9-inch carbon tonearm, with an effective mass of 8.5 g, accepts cartridges from 5 to 14 g with a tracking force between 1 g and 3.5 g. An optional No. 03 counterweight is supplied for cartridges over 10 g, along with a protractor and a motor positioning template for setting up the turntable.
