Roksan K3 V2 integrated amplifier

The Roksan K3 V2 integrated amplifier is the first Hi-Fi integrated amplifier of the British manufacturer Roksan's range.

ROKSAN K3 V2: CHASSIS

Its front panel is available in natural or black-brushed aluminium. It is equipped with 6 led indicating the selected source, 4 small selection buttons and to the left a large volume potentiometer.

Of course, a remote control supplied with the unit takes all functions.

There is also a headphone output of 3.5 mm stereo Jack. It is quite simple, but sober and efficient.

The power supply is located under the left side of the chassis. A "Mode" button turns the Roksan K3 V2 on and an additional pressure lowers the listening level by 20 dB (mute).

At the back of the device, there is a high quality MM phono input and 5 analog inputs.

There is also a preamp output and a Bypass input (home theatre). A pair of speaker outputs allows the connection of banana plugs, forks or bare wires (not recommended!).

ROKSAN K3 V2: COMPONENTS

The interior shows on the left a large 550 vA toroidal transformer that provides power of 140 W at 8 ohms and 220 W at 4 ohms.

In the center, a radiator receives the Vishay IRPF240 MOS-FET power transistors (4 pairs per channel). On the right, there is the main pre-amplification and power supply board.

The components of this integrated amplifier are of very good quality and the architecture is very clear.

ROKSAN K3: TEST AND LISTENING

Since the very first notes, the Roksan K3 V2 amplifier demonstrates a strong character. It drives the speakers with great ease. We are tempted to connect it to higher-end models to push it into its entrenchments.

It is also at ease with all kinds of music. It knows how to be explosive on Rock and Blues, nuanced on Jazz and very subtle on classical music.

The mid-range is present and particularly pulpy! The voices are reproduced with a very beautiful matter and a superb realism. The treble is perfectly integrated in this register and offers no useless hardness or brilliance.

The bass is also excellent! It is powerful and never twists under a bass drum impact or a bass slap. Its behavior and articulation are also remarkable.

The sound scene remains precise and, above all, very spacious, while offering a lot of space between the instruments and the performers.

Detail and transparency are also present. The room atmospheres or the various artifices due to the mixing are not submerged under a veil or coloration.

This Roksan K3 V2 integrated amplifier is a real surprise and shows the know-how of the manufacturer in a still affordable price range. We were especially seduced by its lively aspect and its easy control of the Hi-Fi speakers. And these bringing out a superb musicality, beautiful expressivity and magnificent timbre.
