Description

Design and engineering for the Emit series are conducted at Dynaudio Labs in Denmark. The Emit 50 is the most ambitious speaker in the range. It is a finely crafted three-way speaker featuring technology derived from the manufacturer's high-end Confidence, Contour i, and Evoke series. The Emit 50 is an ideal speaker for medium-sized rooms between 25 and 45 m2 and affordable high-quality hi-fi systems.

Dynaudio Emit 50: Construction

The Emit 50 speaker cabinets are made of 18mm MDF, covered in Black, White, or Walnut laminate finishes.
The loading principle is a dual rear bass-reflex design, which requires that the speakers not be placed directly against a rear wall. It features a dual-flared port design to reduce air turbulence and minimize unwanted noise.
Internal damping material is measured to the gram for a perfect combination of damping and tuning.
The drivers can be concealed behind magnetically attached grilles.

The Dynaudio Emit 50 is equipped with a 15cm MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer) midrange driver. MSP is a material developed by Dynaudio and used by the manufacturer for several decades. It offers a good balance of lightness, rigidity, and damping. The two 18cm woofers in the Emit 50 use similar technology and are also derived from the Esotec+ of the Evoke series. Both drivers utilize a dual-magnet motor providing excellent displacement control and improved sensitivity. The dust cap is part of the cone surface. The small dotted line around its edge is directly connected to the 38mm voice coil behind it. This voice coil itself is made of copper-clad aluminum wire. Aluminum is lightweight, giving the driver a fundamental agility you might not find elsewhere, while the copper coating increases conductivity for higher power handling.
A high-quality dual-ferrite magnet system provides the power and controls the magnetic flux, directing it to the voice coil where it is most needed.

These drivers are paired with a Cerotar tweeter, which is exactly the one found in the Evoke series. It is derived from the award-winning Esotar Forty Anniversary and the incredible Esotar3, which you can hear in the Dynaudio Heritage Special and Dynaudio Confidence speakers. It is a 28mm fabric soft-dome tweeter with our special DSR (Dynaudio Secret Recipe) coating. This fabric soft-dome tweeter allows for the reproduction of all the details and openness of a work without adding listening fatigue. Behind this dome is the Hexis device, an ingenious dimpled inner dome located directly behind the playing surface that shapes airflow to optimize frequency response and eliminate unwanted resonances. This results in more precise diaphragm movement. It is driven by a Ferrite+ strontium carbonate ceramic magnet system for more sensitivity, improved clarity, and better dynamic response. These drivers are connected to a first-order crossover for the tweeter and a second-order topology for the mid/bass driver. It uses excellent quality components.

Dynaudio Emit 50: Installation

These Dynaudio Emit 50 speakers should be installed on the same axis with a spacing between 2.5 and 3.2m. The best result was achieved by placing them 50 cm from the rear wall and 2.80m apart. The high-quality binding posts only offer single-wiring, and that's for the best. They are also quite sensitive to speaker cables. Depending on the associated amplifier, the choice of cable should be made with care. The Emit 50 is equipped with an "outrigger" base that holds decoupling spikes, which must be carefully adjusted to ensure perfect stability.

Dynaudio Emit 50: Performance

These Dynaudio speakers effortlessly reproduce every possible musical style. The bass is deep and full, yet remains controlled if the Emit 50 is paired with a good amplifier and placed in an adequate space. In all cases, they are precise without being intrusive. Consequently, the midrange remains well-defined, precise, and very intelligible, providing a highly immersive listening experience. Voices are reproduced with excellent clarity and a great deal of naturalness and refinement. The treble provides great precision and clarity without any harshness. The integration between the drivers is excellent, with sonic linearity and neutrality ranging from the deepest bass to the highest treble.
These floorstanding speakers also offer excellent authority and a beautiful soundstage, both in width and depth. The stereo imaging is very precise and realistic. The Emit 50 speakers offer the signature sound characteristic of Dynaudio speakers with surprising performance at the proposed price.
The Dynaudio Emit 50 is a high-end speaker for demanding music lovers.
