Monitor Audio Bronze 300 7G floorstanding speakers

The new Monitor Audio Bronze 300 7G incorporates the DNA that has made the bronze series so successful over the past 25 years.

This new version has been improved to offer better performance in terms of power, transparency and amplitude, while remaining in a compact format.

Monitor Audio Bronze 100 7G: Box Set

The Monitor Audio Bronze 300 7G are beautiful speakers with rather imposing proportions. However, they are still easily accommodating, and they blend seamlessly into a living room of more than 25 m².

The baffle is made of 18mm plywood. It is extremely rigid and does not vibrate, thus not altering the sound. The front panel, which is attached to the cabinet, houses the bass, midrange and treble drivers. These can be hidden behind a magnetic black jersey cover, regardless of the speaker's finish.

The cabinet is dense and heavy (over 15kg) and shows good build quality. Internal reinforcements ensure great rigidity to the cabinet. On the back of it there are two bass/reflex ports at the top and bottom and a good quality double terminal block.

The cabinet rests on a high-quality base made up of four branches screwed under the speaker. This base is equipped with spikes that allow the speakers to be perfectly decoupled from the floor.

Monitor Audio Bronze 300 7G: Speakers

The Monitor Audio Bronze 300 7G is a two-and-a-half-way loudspeaker. As such, it features a 25mm C-CAM gold dome tweeter with the UD (uniform dispersion) waveguide designed to create a brighter, wider soundstage and improve time alignment. It also features an attractive hexagonal pattern aluminum grille. Monitor Audio introduced its first gold dome tweeter in 1986.

The new midrange driver is a 15.2 cm (6") custom C-CAM. It is relayed in the bass by a 15.2 cm (6") custom C-CAM woofer. These speakers replace the 14 cm (5.5") of the old Bronze series. The crossover has been redesigned and is made of higher quality components.

The Bass/Reflex load is managed on the back of the speaker by two vents with HiVe II technology. These guarantee fast and punchy bass.

Monitor Audio Bronze 300 7G : Restitution

It is recommended to position these speakers between 2.40m and 3.2m apart. Given the position of the vents at the rear of the speakers, we recommend that you separate them 55cm from the wall. They require 30 to 40 hours of listening (breaking-in) before offering the best performance.

From the very first bars we are struck by the breadth and quality of the bass reproduced by the Bronze 300 7G. The bass is powerful and with a remarkable extension (34 Hz). The rear Bass/Reflex vents are tuned to 38 Hz) and it is audible! The low end of the spectrum integrates perfectly into the whole without ever being invasive.

The high frequencies are quite characteristic of the brand. They are refined, but never intrusive. The C-CAM dome remains controlled and measured, so even long listening sessions at high volumes are not tiring.

The soundstage is wide and clear, with vocals and instruments clearly defined without being artificially exaggerated.

The Bronze 300s appreciate high listening levels. They remain straight without any distortion. This is a sign of the use of high-performance speakers.

The Bronze 300 7G remains neutral and very linear, which is also what makes it convincing. Well-designed and well-built, it offers superb musicality that its attractive price does not necessarily suggest.
