The Revival Audio Sprint 3 are two-way speakers which feature technology from the manufacturer's ATALANTE range.

Revival Audio Spring 3: Speakers

High frequencies are handled by a 28mm RASC soft dome super tweeter. This also receives the integrated patented ARID (Anti-Reflection Inner Dome) technology. The rear speaker chamber is designed to absorb more than 95% of the resonances generated by the moving assembly. Its asymmetrical suspension provides more linear guidance without dome resonance. The oversized magnet achieves an efficiency of 91 dB 

The mid/bass is entrusted to a superb 18 cm driver equipped with a BSC (Basalt Sandwich Construction) membrane. This material provides a superb compromise between rigidity and lightness. This helps deliver a fast, smooth response with excellent low-frequency dynamics.

Basalt is used here in a unique way. This lava stone extract offers similar characteristics to fiberglass but with a better Young modulus (mechanical stress). It is also an eco-sustainable material.

The Sandwich construction of the membrane consists of 3 layers: a specially defined felt is applied to the back of the basalt membrane and a specialized polymer glue is in between, which achieves the best possible cushioning. The HP BSC, with its lightness and rigidity, gives excellent transient response, fast and fluid with dynamic and tight bass.

At Revival Audio, the filter is designed to listen by placing real components on a test board and measuring and listening to the results with each modification. This allows precise optimization and is completely in line with the loudspeakers and the load.

Revival Audio Spring 3: Boxset 

The speaker baffle receives a counter baffle fixed by magnets.  This proprietary “ELYTRON” baffle is a Revival Audio design. This was developed during hundreds of hours of simulation. It allows you to control directivity and diffraction. The ELYTRON is made of high-rigidity composite materials to ensure perfect stability. The asymmetrical shape with specially defined curved angles improves high frequency directivity. It acts as a waveguide and optimizes performance in the midrange and low frequencies by reducing the diffraction impact of the body. In addition, this baffle improves the sound image by making it more precise and more balanced, while minimizing the impact of listening locations. The ELYTRON receives a speaker cover fabric grille attached from the back of it. It can therefore be easily removed.

The rear of the speaker receives a magnificent single-wiring terminal block. This is compatible with banana plugs or forks. Above we find the mouth of a large vent which justifies the bass reflex load.

The Revival Audio Spring 3 are delivered with large sorbothane pads which screw into 4 inserts under the speaker. They allow the box to be effectively decoupled from the support on which the speakers are positioned. 

Revival Audio Spring 3: Testing and listening

We positioned these speakers on rigid supports 60 cm high. We placed the speakers 35 cm from the rear wall and placed them 2.70 m apart. I think these speakers are perfectly suited to rooms with a surface area between 15 and 30 m2.

To remain consistent we associated the Revival Audio Spring 3 with an amplifier below 1200 euros and sixty watts.

From the first measures we notice dynamic performances and a magnitude much greater than what we are used to hearing from competitors. The bass is excellent, it remains articulate and controlled on all types of music. It is transcribed with great detail and readability.

Les Spring offers a superb soundstage and excellent placement of the different desks.

The strong point of these Revival Audio is the mid-treble part. The voices are reproduced with superb realism and enough presence to convey all the emotions present in the music. This medium can be colored, and the connection with the tweeter is an undeniable success. The top of the spectrum transcribed by the 28mm tweeter is precise and open and at the same time it remains soft and does not transmit any aggressiveness. 

The Spring 3 offers remarkable tonal balance for a speaker in this range.

The Revival Audio Spring 3 are a real revelation! We were totally won over by their restitution and their musicality. We can admit that it favors timbre and realism by putting aside the exuberance of some of these competitions.

In its category, it sets a new benchmark and offers exceptional value for money.
