Mission 750 bookshelf speakers

This Mission 750 was developed following a massive demand for the return of the industrial design of the 700 series from the 70s. It is therefore heavily influenced by the original Mission 700 series.

However, the new Mission 750 is an entirely new concept and model, designed specifically to meet the demands in this segment.

Mission 750 : Fabrication et design

We therefore find the now famous white front baffle and the famous Mission logo.

The entire body receives a superb black or walnut real wood veneer. This speaker offers a format suitable for restricted spaces and offers easy placement.

The Mission 750 shows reverse geometry like the historic Mission models. That is to say that the tweeter is below the mid-bass. 

The fact remains that it benefits from modern design and manufacturing standards but by combining them with the multi-layer sandwich construction of the 700 models.

Mission 750: Speakers

The Mission 750 is equipped with a 135mm bass/mid-speaker with a mineral-filled polypropylene membrane. The high frequencies are entrusted to a 28 mm Tweeter with a silk dome. By placing the treble under the bass/mid-driver, the length of the sound path is more balanced, which allows for better phasing and for all registers to arrive at the listener's head height at the same time. This technique improves time alignment, however, this design is not simply about reversing the speaker cabinet, the crossover design takes this into account of course. The woofer works with a Bass-Reflex load which flows via a port at the rear of the speakers in the upper part. This tuning contributes to the extension of the bass beyond what we are used to finding with a speaker of this size. 

The internal damping has been particularly careful. Mission uses foam and high-pile fiber covering. This facilitates the control of internal resonance by limiting colorations.

Mission 750 : Installation

We recommend that you move these speakers to a piece of furniture, or better yet, a dedicated stand with a minimum height of 55cm. The connection is made on a simple, excellent quality terminal block which accepts banana plugs, forks or of course bare cable. 

We listened to them with an English Class A transistor amp and a small transistor integrated with around fifty Watts.

Mission 750: Test and listen

These Mission 750s offer superb balance, which is partly due to the quality of the bass. This is associated with a clear and detailed midrange and very refined and precise treble. They like to be jostled a little by the amp. A “soft” and “soft” amp should be avoided with the Mission 750s.

It is possible to listen at a fairly high volume while maintaining an impressive degree of calm and pleasure! On orchestral masses they are impressive by the notion of power and impact that they are capable of distilling.

The Mission 750 are excellent speakers, remarkably built and offering advantages that set them apart from the competition. It should be noted that they are not very demanding in terms of amplification, although it is of course necessary to provide them with an excellent quality signal and therefore take care of the source.
