DS Audio HS-001headshell

The DS Audio HS-001 headshell features a bayonet mount for SME-type tonearms (Technics SL1200, etc.).

The DS Audio HS-001 headshell is precision-machined from a single piece of solid Duralumin for perfect rigidity and excellent resonance control.

The DS Audio HS-001 features a unique system of double connection pins, on the upper and lower levels, for optimal contact between the tonearm and the headshell, ensuring perfect contact pressure.

The vertical structure of the pins ensures uniform pressure on the electrical contacts. The contact surface is stabilized by a spherical washer, allowing for stable contact around the entire circumference of the contact point, which improves stability and control of resonance and micro-vibrations.

Conventional headshells have the connection pin fixed only on the upper side, leading to uneven contact pressure between the tonearm and the headshell.

The DS Audio HS-001 headshell comes with connectors made from Litz wire, hand-soldered.

After extensive listening tests within the company, DS Audio chose Japanese-made Litz wire. Further improvements were made by hand-soldering this wire to preserve signal integrity for optimal sound performance.

The DS Audio HS-001 headshell also comes with two sets of stainless steel cartridge mounting screws (M 2.6 L 8 and M 2.6 L 12).

Of course, adding such a headshell is immediately audible! The gain in precision and dynamics is fabulous. Everything seems much more obvious and clearer. It feels as if a veil between the cartridge and the speakers has been removed.
