REGA PLANAR 3 50th Anniversary: Arm and cartridge
La 50th Anniversary turntable of course takes up the latest version of the famous armRB330. This one was entirely designed using 3D simulation. It therefore benefits from over 40 years of experience from Rega on the subject. Indeed, during its early years, the manufacturer used arms Lustre of Japanese origin.
The RB330 is equipped with the latest available bearings, thus offering no friction, and a new tube profile providing less resonance. The column has been stiffened and better adjusted compared to the previous version. The phono cable(captive) is none other than the last one Rega Couple which can also be found on the Rega P8
As standard, this turntable is delivered with the MM Rega Exact cartridge. This combination gives it unmatched performance in this price range.

REGA PLANAR 3 50th Anniversary: Baseboard
The laminated wood baseboard "walnut effect" is set with an aluminum badge custom-made especially for the 50th anniversary of Rega. Only one single finish is available: Walnut. Rega was the first company to use rigid and lightweight bases. The clever use of a lightweight particle board plinth and a very rigid phenolic resin coating is the reason for the high level of performance achieved by the Planar range.
We find the crossmember « double breaststroke "which stiffens the bearing/arm axis. It is made of phenolic on the underside, and metallized phenolic on the upper surface. The whole rests on the feet of the last"Planar 3, which offer perfect stability and immunity to vibrational phenomena.
La P3 50th Anniversary is delivered with a smoked lid, also set with a custom aluminum badge for the 50th anniversary.

REGA PLANAR 3 50th Anniversary: DRIVE
The assembly is driven by a motor similar to that of the RP8 turntable. His card is similar to that of the Rega P6.
We also find the aluminum pulley of the latter associated with the courroie "upgrade" from the manufacturer EBLT. The use of this Rega EBLT belt significantly reduces Wow / Flutter by more than half! In use and under normal conditions, the lifespan of the Rega EBLT drive belt is 50% longer than the standard model.
The bearing and the backplate have been redesigned and benefit from better machining and better fitting. This assembly receives a plateau in 12mm thick Opti-white glass. It is combined with the traditional couvre-plateauIn pure wool felt.
In order to fully optimize the performance of this Planar 3 50th Anniversary, , Rega deliver this one with the Neo PSU Mk2. This power supply is manually adjusted following the same method used for the Planar 6 and there Planar 8. The Neo PSU MK2 allows fine speed adjustment (user-controllable), and its circuit limits vibrations to the motor. Additionally, it offers electronic speed shifting. The Neo PSU MK2 reduces engine noise, improves speed stability and rotational speed accuracy.

REGA PLANAR 3 50th Anniversary: TEST AND LISTENING
Listening to this turntable is very interesting because it shows what can be achieved by optimizing a product that was created more than 40 years ago.
From the very first measurements, we can affirm that at the proposed price, it has no competitor !
We find the musicality and ease of providing pleasure that has made the brand successful over the past fifty years! The reproduction is perfectly balanced, coherent, and precise. The dynamics are, as always with Rega Remarkable, and the rhythmic tracking is also exemplary! The presence and the "communicative" aspect of the music are also its strengths...
It is of course more precise and defined than the standard version of the Planar 3 turntable, and this is normal compared to the proposed "upgrades." However, it does not reach the level of transparency and neutrality of the Planar 6… but it’s a different rate.
La Rega Planar 3 50th Anniversary is certainly the deal of the moment and it will be until December 31, 2023! At the offered price, it does not seem to be threatened… and in the long run, it only lacks an excellent low-level MC cellTo be perfect !

Avec ma Platine vinyle Rega Planar 3 - 50th Anniversary je suis passé dans un autre monde musicale. La platine est silencieuse et son look est sobre. La qualité d'écoute est parfaite c'est un plaisir de redécouvrir mes vinyles . Merci pour les réglages
Excellente platine
Depuis plusieurs mois, j’étais à la recherche d’une platine et j’ai longtemps hésité à faire mon choix. Au final, je suis l’heureux propriétaire de cette version 50e anniversaire de la rega planar 3. Visuellement, elle est à la fois sobre et élégante avec son plateau en verre et elle restitue parfaitement le son de mes vinyles. Je remercie l’équipe de Maplatine pour l’avoir parfaitement préparée.

Je voulais passer à une platine plus haut de gamme que le materiel que j'avais avant (une pioneer pl-200 ; pas dingue me direz vous mais pour débuter ça faisait le taff). Pas déçu ! Très belle, très classe, très épurée ! Au niveau du son : je suis conquis ! J'écoute principalement du rock voire du metal et cette platine est idéale. On entend davantage les medium, les basses sont plus dynamiques, et l'ensemble a plus de corps. Même certains vinyle dont les pressages étaient pas fou sonnent à peu près bien.
Je recommande vivement.
