The UnitiLite is a high performance and comprehensive product. It comprises 5 elements: an integrated amplifier (2 x 50W), a CD player, a USB audio interface, a UPnP interface, an internet radio tuner (FM/DAB: optional). The UnitiLite has a CD player with a sliding tray that can play standard RedBook and CDR CDs, unlike the UnitiQute as it does not have a CD player. The integrated preamplifier has three analogue inputs and five S/PDIF digital inputs.
The front panel accommodates the volume button, input selection and mute function, and the remote control and the Apple application for Naim products called nStream (IPod, IPad, IPod Touch) can take over. The USB input can be paired with an IPod and charge it during playback. For the network connection, an Ethernet (RJ45) connector is available. It is also possible to connect to WiFi. The UPnP audio interface can read files stored on a NAS (NetWork Attached Storage) audio server or a computer connected to the network.
The 3.5 mm jack input accepts standard analogue connectors as well as mini-Toslink optical digital connectors, it will automatically identify the type of connector inserted. The Unitilite has a pre-out output (4-pin Din) to pair it with a power amplifier or a subwoofer. With respect to the speaker outputs, the cables require 4 mm banana plugs. The 3.5 mm headphone input will mute the speaker outputs.
