Description

Rotel has been producing and designing CD players since 1989 and maybe some are wondering why a new CD player is proposed in 2019?

Rotel answers: “During the last 25 years, more than 200 millions of CD had been sold!” This is indeed a good reason to continue manufacturing them!

ROTEL CD11: FRONT PANEL AND BACK PANEL

Seen from the outside, this CD player looks like the Rotel CD14! No difference regarding to the front panel or the back panel.

We find the front panel made of slated black or natural aluminum, important for the brand. In the middle, there is a tray and above it, there is a blue backlit display.

On the left, there is a start button and on the right, 6 small push buttons giving access to the main functions.

At the back, there is a RCA stereo output and a coaxial digital output.

ROTEL CD11: TECHNOLOGY

The mechanism of the Rotel CD11 has been carefully selected for an audio only use.

It has been placed as low as possible in the chassis, in order to lower the centre of gravity. In addition, this dislocation stiffens the chassis and limits mechanical vibratons.

The conversion part is entrusted to a Texas Instrument DAC, which is simple and less costly than the Wolfson N/A DAC of the Rotel CD14 CD player.

As always, the design uses a toroid power transformer and carefully selected audiophile components.

ROTEL CD11: TEST AND LISTENING

Very few surprises when the listening! We find all the qualities of the Rotel CD14 with slightly less definition and presence.

However, at the price of this Rotel CD11 CD player, it is a bargain!
