Description

The Dynavector CL-1 lead wires are designed to optimise the performance of your cartridge and headshell. Developed to the rigorous standards of a renowned cartridge manufacturer, this cable delivers a high level of performance at a still affordable price.

Dynavector CL-1: conductors

To ensure pure signal transmission from the cartridge to the output, the CL-1 features ultra-fine, high-purity copper wires, identical to those used in the Dynavector CP-1 phono cable. The CL-1 uses carefully selected high-purity copper wire made up of countless strands, each less than 50 microns thick. This ultra-fine structure strikes the perfect balance between signal fidelity and flexibility. Its flexible multi-strand wires also make installation in the headshell easier.

Whether paired with Dynavector MC cartridges or those from other brands, the CL-1 will bring out the full potential of your system.

Dynavector CL-1: connectors

For clean, reliable connectivity with the cartridge and headshell, the terminals are rhodium-plated. Compared with gold and other plating materials, rhodium provides a thinner but harder plating layer, considerably reducing any sonic colouration, which makes it an ideal choice for preserving the purity and precision of the sound. The inner diameter of the colour-coded end of the terminal pin is 1.2 mm, while the opposite end is 1.0 mm. These sizes ensure compatibility not only with all Dynavector MC models, but also with most cartridges and headshells on the market.

Dynavector CL-1: sound

By using only pure copper, with no blended metals such as silver, the CL-1 offers a softer, more natural tonal balance. The sound nonetheless remains transparent, neutral and highly precise, with no colouration whatsoever.

FAQ: Everything you need to know before buying the Dynavector CL-1 lead wires

Will the CL-1 lead wires fit a cartridge from a brand other than Dynavector?
Yes. The terminal pins have an inner diameter of 1.2 mm at the colour-coded end and 1.0 mm at the opposite end. These dimensions ensure compatibility with all Dynavector MC models as well as with most cartridges and headshells on the market.

What conductor is used in the Dynavector CL-1?
The CL-1 relies on high-purity copper made of countless strands under 50 microns thick, identical to the copper found in the Dynavector CP-1 phono cable. This multi-strand construction combines signal fidelity with flexibility, which makes installation in the headshell easier.

Why rhodium-plated terminals rather than gold?
Compared with gold and other plating materials, rhodium forms a thinner yet harder layer. It therefore considerably reduces sonic colouration and preserves the purity and precision of the signal carried by the cables between cartridge and headshell.

What kind of sound signature can I expect?
The CL-1 uses only pure copper, with no blended metals such as silver. The result is a softer, more natural tonal balance, while the sound stays transparent, neutral and highly precise, free of any colouration. Explore our buying guides to build a coherent analogue system.
