NUPRIME STA-9 stereo/mono power amplifier

The NuPrime STA-9 power amplifier is an amplifier that delivers 2 x 120W in stereo and a voltage of 290W in mono. It is a class A + D design. This technology imitates the sound characteristics delivered by a tube amplifier.

The front panel is simple. It only has one LED that indicates the power up. On the back panel there are symmetrical (XLR) inputs and asymmetrical (RCA) inputs. A terminal of high quality (plated gold) provides a point of connection for banana plugs, fork connectors, and bare wires.

The STA-9 amplifier is an upgrade of the ULCAM design (Ultra Linear Class A Module) + class D introduced for the first time in the NuPrime IDA-8. The new linear power supply of the NuPrime STA-9 is made up of a high efficiency toroidal transformer. The NuPrime STA-9 power amplifier also includes isolation feet (patent pending). The feet absorb and cancel vibrations that degrade the audio performances.

The sound produced is surprising by the speed in transitions and the level of impact obtained. The dynamic is remarkable in comparison to the size and price of this amplifier. The midrange and particularly the voices are rich and just like expected with a vacuum tube amp. The high frequencies are detailed and airy. The unison is natural, soft and nuanced. There is also a soundstage that is spacious and open.

Of course, you can also combine it with several preamplifiers of other brands.
