Description

The Eversolo Play is an integrated amplifier combining a network player, analogue and phono inputs, and numerous digital, wireless and multiroom connections. The Play CD version even includes a Compact Disc player!

EVERSOLO Play: Enclosure

Like the manufacturer's other devices, the Play's case is made from a monocoque block of aluminum. It is precisely machined using CNC techniques. This robust, matte-textured enclosure improves structural rigidity, effectively protects against external electromagnetic interference, and guarantees high-performance audio signal transmission.

It has very compact dimensions (230 x 230 x 75 mm) that nevertheless accommodate a 14 cm screen on the front. Indeed, the front panel is occupied by more than 60% by this high-resolution color touchscreen. It combines practicality and aesthetics. It clearly displays playback information, controls, and system status. Of course, it lets you browse the music library and adjust settings in a very intuitive and fluid way.

The underside of the chassis features a specific design similar to a heat sink, effectively reducing the temperature of the internal electronic components and ensuring the stability of the circuit boards and chips.

EVERSOLO PLAY: Connections

The rear panel of the Eversolo Play offers multiple analog and digital connections. There are 5 digital inputs in various formats: Optical Toslink, Coaxial S/PDIF (24-bit/192 kHz), HDMI ARC (192 kHz 24-bit), and USB 3.0. To this is added an analogue RCA input and a phono input compatible with MM and MC. For the network connection, there is an RJ45 LAN socket.

The Eversolo Play also has a mono Sub output in RCA format, which allows a filter adjustment from 40 to 500 Hz.

A USB Audio Out is also available. It transmits a lossless digital signal compatible with high-resolution PCM files and DSD 512 / PCM 768 kHz 32-bit with excellent stability. It is possible to connect an external hard drive to expand the music library.

The Play is also equipped with a Bluetooth connection in Bluetooth BT5.3 / SBC / AAC format.

EVERSOLO PLAY: Technology

The Eversolo Play features a high-end 32-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC), the AK4493SEQ from AKM, using VELVETSOUND™ technology, which considerably reduces harmonic distortion and noise during digital signal processing. The chip supports an extended dynamic range, allowing the device to faithfully reproduce dynamics, from the most subtle details.

The Eversolo Play integrates PurePath™ Ultra HD technology and a feedback design with error correction. This system achieves ultra-low distortion across the entire audio frequency range while delivering an output power of 60 W (8 Ω) and 110 W (4 Ω). This makes it possible to effortlessly power various quality speakers.

The Play series offers a 15-band graphic equalizer and a 10-band parametric equalizer, with independent adjustment of the left and right channels. Thanks to its 23 genre presets (including EDM, blues, classical, and jazz), it allows instant audio customization to create your ideal sound experience.

The Play integrates Qobuz, TIDAL, IDAGIO, Amazon Music, TuneIn Radio, Presto Music, KKBOX, Radio Paradise, Deezer and all the other major platforms, allowing lossless high-resolution audio playback without any additional device.

The Eversolo Play is compatible with streaming protocols such as Roon Ready, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect Lossless, TIDAL Connect and JPLAY CERTIFIED; it allows real-time playback of tracks via streaming services. Instantly access tens of millions of tracks: listen to them at any time, with a single click!

The Eversolo Play CD Edition (option) includes an original Hitachi-LG CD player. It is equipped with an anti-vibration chassis, considerably reducing resonances and ensuring stable disc rotation. Proprietary error-correction algorithms improve compatibility with scratched or aging media. In addition, it supports CD ripping, allowing users to quickly copy tracks from CDs to the Play.

EVERSOLO PLAY: Test and listening

The Eversolo Play offers a warm and very musical reproduction for a device in this range. It delivers a beautiful midrange, with present and organic voices. This is combined with a soft and silky high end. The bass is clean and well controlled. Of course, it cannot deliver a powerful and percussive extreme bass. But this has no impact, as this amplifier is not intended to be paired with speakers that explore this register.

However, the Play favours listening pleasure over clinical analysis. But the level of detail and the precision of the transients with which the music fills the listening room remain very convincing. It seems that never before have so many features been integrated into such a small box for such an affordable price.

Paired with excellent speakers, it offers reproduction, possibilities and ergonomics that are incredible at a price where there is no competitor!

FAQ: Everything you need to know before buying the Eversolo Play

Can the Eversolo Play really replace several hi-fi devices at once?

That is precisely its purpose. The Play brings together in a single compact box (230 x 230 x 75 mm) an integrated amplifier, a network player, a DAC 32-bit, an MM/MC phono input, analogue and digital inputs, and wireless connectivity. The Play CD version even adds a CD player. For those who want to simplify their setup without sacrificing quality, it is a particularly coherent solution.

Which streaming services are available, and is a particular subscription required?

The Play is compatible with the major music platforms: Qobuz, Tidal, Amazon Music, Deezer, Spotify Connect Lossless, IDAGIO, TuneIn Radio and many others. It supports the Roon Ready and TIDAL Connect protocols, which makes it compatible with most existing listening ecosystems. Each service requires its own subscription, but the device itself does not impose any particular platform.

What type of speakers does it work best with?

The Play delivers 60 W into 8 ohms and 110 W into 4 ohms, which allows it to easily power a wide range of quality speakers. Its warm and musical reproduction, with a present midrange and a soft treble, will pair particularly well with compact or bookshelf speakers. On the other hand, it is not designed to drive speakers with very high demands in deep and percussive bass.

Is it easy to use day to day, even without being a hi-fi expert?

Yes, this is one of its strong points. The 14 cm colour touchscreen on the front lets you control everything intuitively: browsing the music library, settings, playback information. The Play also offers a 15-band graphic equaliser with 23 genre presets (jazz, classical, EDM...) to customise the sound without any particular technical knowledge. Bluetooth 5.3 also allows a quick wireless connection from a smartphone or tablet.
