The Eversolo Play is an integrated amplifier that combines a network player, analog and phono inputs, and numerous digital, wireless, and multiroom connections. The Play CD version even includes a Compact Disc player!
EVERSOLO Play: Case
Like the manufacturer's other devices, the Play's casing is machined from a single block of aluminum. It is precision-machined using CNC techniques. This robust, matte-textured casing enhances structural rigidity, effectively protects against external electromagnetic interference, and ensures high-performance audio signal transmission.
It boasts very compact dimensions (230 x 230 x 75 mm) yet accommodates a 14 cm screen on the front. In fact, over 60% of the front panel is occupied by this high-resolution color touchscreen. It combines practicality and aesthetics, clearly displaying playback information, controls, and system status. Naturally, it allows users to browse their music library and adjust settings in a very intuitive and fluid way.
The underside of the chassis features a specific design that acts as a heat sink, effectively reducing the temperature of internal electronic components and ensuring the stability of printed circuits and chips.
EVERSOLO PLAY : Connexions
The rear panel of the Eversolo Play offers multiple analog and digital connections. There are five digital inputs in various formats: Toslink optical, coaxial SPDIF (24-bit/192 kHz), HDMI ARC (192 kHz 24-bit), and USB 3.0. In addition, there is an RCA analog input and a phono input compatible with both MM and MC cartridges. For network connectivity, there is an RJ45 LAN port.
The Eversolo Play also has a mono Sub output in RCA format which allows a filter adjustment from 40 to 500 Hz.
USB Audio Out inputs are also available. It transmits a lossless digital signal compatible with high-resolution PCM and DSD 512/PCM 768 kHz 32-bit files with excellent stability. An external hard drive can be connected to expand the music library.
The Play is also equipped with a Bluetooth connection in Bluetooth BT5.3 /SBC/AAC format.
EVERSOLO PLAY : Technologie
The Eversolo Play incorporates a high-end 32-bit AKM AK4493SEQ digital-to-analog converter (DAC), utilizing VELVETSOUND™ technology which significantly reduces harmonic distortion and noise during digital signal processing. The chip supports an extended dynamic range, allowing the device to faithfully reproduce even the most subtle dynamics and details.
The Eversolo Play incorporates PurePath™ Ultra HD technology and a feedback design with error correction. This system achieves ultra-low distortion across the entire audio frequency range while delivering 60W (8Ω) and 110W (4Ω) of output power, effortlessly driving a variety of high-quality speakers.
The Play series features a 15-band graphic equalizer and a 10-band parametric equalizer, with independent left and right channel adjustment. With 23 genre presets (including EDM, blues, classical, and jazz), it allows for instant audio customization to create your ideal listening experience.
The Play integrates Qobuz, TIDAL, IDAGIO, Amazon Music, TuneIn Radio, Presto Music, KKBOX, Radio Paradise, Deezer and all other major platforms, allowing lossless high-resolution audio playback without additional devices.
The Eversolo Play is compatible with streaming protocols such as Roon Ready, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect Lossless, TIDAL Connect, and JPLAY CERTIFIED, enabling real-time playback of tracks via streaming services. Instantly access tens of millions of tracks: listen to them anytime, with a single click!
The optional Eversolo Play CD Edition features an original Hitachi-LG CD player. It is equipped with an anti-vibration chassis, significantly reducing resonance and ensuring stable disc rotation. Proprietary error correction algorithms improve compatibility with scratched or older discs. Furthermore, it supports CD ripping, allowing users to quickly copy tracks from CDs to the player.
EVERSOLO PLAY: Test and Listen
The Eversolo Play offers a warm and very musical sound for a device in this price range. It delivers a beautiful midrange, with vocals that are present and organic. This is paired with a smooth and silky upper spectrum. The bass is clean and well-controlled. Of course, it can't produce powerful and percussive sub-bass. But this is irrelevant because this amplifier isn't designed to be paired with speakers that explore that register.
However, the Play prioritizes listening pleasure over surgical analysis. But the level of detail and the precision of the transients with which the music fills the listening room remain very convincing. It seems that never before have so many features been packed into such a small device for such a modest price.
Combined with excellent speakers, it offers incredible sound reproduction, possibilities, and ergonomics at a price where there is no competitor!
FAQ: Everything you need to know before buying the Eversolo Play
Can the Eversolo Play really replace several hi-fi components at once?
That is precisely what it was designed to do. The Play packs into a single compact enclosure (230 x 230 x 75 mm) an integrated amplifier, a network streamer, a 32-bit DAC, an MM/MC phono input, analogue and digital inputs, and wireless connectivity. The Play CD edition adds a CD drive on top of that. For those looking to simplify their setup without compromising on quality, it makes a very strong case.
Which streaming services are supported, and do I need a specific subscription?
The Play works with all major music platforms: Qobuz, Tidal, Amazon Music, Deezer, Spotify Connect Lossless, IDAGIO, TuneIn Radio, and many more. It also supports Roon Ready and TIDAL Connect, making it compatible with most existing listening ecosystems. Each service requires its own subscription, but the device itself does not lock you into any particular platform.
What type of speakers does it work best with?
The Play delivers 60 W into 8 ohms and 110 W into 4 ohms, which is enough to drive a wide range of quality speakers with ease. Its warm and musical character, with a present midrange and smooth treble, pairs particularly well with compact or bookshelf speakers. It is not designed to drive speakers that demand deep, powerful bass extension.
Is it easy to use day to day, even without a hi-fi background?
Yes, and that is one of its real strengths. The 14 cm colour touchscreen on the front panel puts full control within reach: library browsing, settings, and playback information, all in a highly intuitive way. The Play also features a 15-band graphic equaliser with 23 genre presets (jazz, classical, EDM...) for instant sound personalisation with no technical knowledge required. Bluetooth 5.3 adds quick wireless connection from a smartphone or tablet.
