FOCAL ALPHA 50: CHARACTERISTICS
It is equipped with a bass/midrange speaker of 13 cm (5’’) with Polyglass membrane. This one is load with a large section dual laminar port. H
igh frequencies are entrusted to an inverted dome 25 mm (1’’) tweeter made of aluminium.
Each register is "driven" by its own amplifier: a 20 W class AB module for the tweeter, and a 35 W module for the woofer.
Despite its size, the Alpha 50 offers a frequency response from 45 Hz to 22 kHz (+/- 3 dB)!
FOCAL ALPHA 50: BACK
At the back of this active speaker, we find a XLR symmetrical input and a RCA asymmetrical input. The sensitivity is adjustable by 0 and + 6 dB.
Two potentiometers allow you to adjust the bass and high notes level following the room and the position of the speaker, to have the most neutral and accurate response as much as possible.
FOCAL ALPHA 50: TEST AND LISTENING
From the very first notes, we are surprised by the dynamics and the restitution accuracy.
Even at high volume, there are no distortion and speakers torsion.
The bass response is surprising in terms of fullness and impact over a speaker of this size.
The Focal Alpha 50 active speaker is not very colored. Its neutrality and low directivity make it an excellent work tool. Furthermore, note that the details and precision level is outstanding for a speaker of this range!
