The Pro-Ject Essential III turntable
The Pro-Ject Essential III turntable is the first model in this new range. This turntable has numerous components of the Essential II, with of course a few improvements. The sound reproduction of this turntable is more precise and open. As often with Pro-Ject, this Essential III turntable is versatile and produces great results on all styles of music. Also take into account that it offers more possible upgrades than its predecessors because the phono cable is now upgradable. You can also change the Ortofon OM10 cartridge that the turntable comes with and add another MM cartridge of better quality. It is an excellent choice if you are looking to buy your first turntable.
The other Pro-Ject Essential III turntables
In addition to this new Pro-Ject Essential III turntable, the range Essential III is made out of 5 other models of turntables. These 5 turntables have all the characteristics of the Essential III but some functionalities have been added.
The Pro-Ject Essential III PHONO turntable
If you do not yet own a phono preamplifier and your budget does not enable you to acquire a separate phono soundstage, you can choose the Pro-Ject Essential III PHONO turntable. It is equipped with a MM integrated phono stage. Thanks to an interconnect cable, you will be able to connect your Essential III Phono to your amplifier.
The Pro-Ject Essential III Digital turntable
The third model of the Pro-Ject Essential III range is the Pro-Ject Essential III Digital turntable. It is also equipped with a MM integrated phono preamplifier. However, this one has an optical output. While waiting to invest in Hi-Fi speakers, this will give you the possibility to connect your turntable to the sound bar of your TV or any other audiovisual equipment!
The Pro-Ject Essential III BT (Bluetooth) turntable
If you prefer to use Bluetooth technology, Pro-Ject has also though about you! The Pro-Ject Essential III BT (Bluetooth) turntable is equipped with a MM phono preamplifier that has an aptX Bluetooth output as well as two analogue outputs. This gives you the possibility to listen to your music according to 3 different configurations: via a phono preamplifier, via an amplifier, or via Bluetooth of course.
The Pro-Ject Essential III SB turntable
The Pro-Ject Essential III SB turntable does not have all the functionalities described above. However, this 5th model of the range Essential III is equipped with a speed control and therefore named SB (“SB” stands for speed box). You no longer need to change the position of the turntable belt, the speed change from 33 to 45 RPM is electronic. All you have to do is press the button! This is a great functionality when you have as many 33 RPM as 45 RPM!
The Pro-Ject Essential III Record Master turntable
The 6th and last model of the range Essential III is the Pro-Ject Essential III Record Master turntable. Just like the Essential III SB, this turntable is equipped with a regulated speed control of 33 and 45 RPM. However, this is not everything because a phono preamplifier is also integrated to this turntable. If you plan to digitize your vinyl records on a computer, this turntable fully fits your needs as the phono preamplifier includes a USB output.
