After a successful career, the Pro-Ject Essential has now been replaced by a third version. This new Pro-Ject Essential III vinyl turntable retains most of the highlights of its big sister, with significant improvements.
Pro-Ject Essential III : Drive
The nylon drive pulley has been replaced by a diamond-machined aluminium version! This improves drive precision.

Pro-Ject Essential III : Plinth and platter
The platter and plinth are cut into MDF, retained for its low resonance properties.
The roller bearing and spindle are milled with a very low tolerance, like Pro-Ject's more ambitious models.
This Pro-Ject Essential III vinyl turntable is available in black, red or white.

Pro-Ject Essential III : Tonearm and cartridge
In fact, this great 8.6" aluminium tonearm is none other than the one that was fitted to the now discontinued Pro-Ject Debut III vinyl turntable.

It has the famous Ortofon OM 10 cartridge that is a safe option in this range. But this phono cartridge can naturally be replaced with a more efficient model.
Pro-Ject Essential III : Accessories
The phono cables are still captive, like the former version. Pro-Ject unveils its Essential III with the great Connect It E. Contrary to the competition, these are not plain 'low cost' phono cables!
The vinyl turntable comes with a transparent (smoky) dust cover.

Pro-Ject Essential III : Listening and test review
The Pro-Ject Essential III exhibits a punchy and vibrant sound quality!
The overall balance is excellent for a vinyl turntable in this range. It seems more precise and more open than the earlier generation.
Blues, Jazz and Rock lovers out there will just love it! Needless to say that it is also great with classical music, although it does not have the same neutrality as its big sister, the Debut Carbon vinyl turntable.
Pro-Ject Essential III : Unboxing
It is ever so simple to use, especially as it is delivered ready-tested and set up! All you need to do is place the belt around the platter.
Pro-Ject Essential III is the entry-level model in the audiophile range, designed for music lovers on a limited budget… Furthermore, the glossy finish options give it a 'high end' look!
Would recommend!
