The quality of a turntable is always determined by its weakest link. For this reason, Acoustic Signature refuses to offer entry-level tonearms that would significantly limit the performance of its turntables.

The TA-5000 Neo is the fourth tonearm in the German manufacturer’s lineup and delivers remarkable performance and musicality considering its price. It is available in both 9-inch and 12-inch versions.

The Acoustic Signature TA-5000 Neo is available in 9-inch or 12-inch configurations, with an effective length of 239.3 mm or 309 mm respectively.

It features a triple carbon fiber tube structure offering exceptional rigidity and extremely low resonance. Its effective mass is 12.4g in the 9-inch version and 14.4g in the 12-inch version, making it compatible with a wide range of MM and MC cartridges, although MC cartridges are particularly recommended with a tonearm of this quality.

The TA-5000 provides excellent tracking performance thanks to miniature ball bearings supplied by SKF. To ensure both durability and fluid movement, the manufacturer uses a precision-machined stainless steel pivot shaft.

The counterweight applying tracking force is machined from a solid block of high-purity brass. Anti-skating adjustment is managed via a dedicated dial located to the right of the tonearm pivot.

The highly engineered headshell is machined from a solid aluminum block and allows precise alignment and overhang adjustments while remaining compatible with most cartridges on the market.

The TA-5000 also includes a fully machined cueing lever, offering excellent precision and user comfort.

The internal wiring uses very high-quality 4N silver conductors.

The cartridge connectors are silver-plated, ensuring extremely low resistance and minimal capacitance.

The TA-5000 is supplied with a premium 5-pin DIN to RCA cable made from PSC copper and manufactured by the Scottish brand Atlas.

The TA-5000 is supplied with an SME-type mounting base, making it compatible with the manufacturer’s turntables as well as many other compatible models.

While most turntables can accommodate the 9-inch version, fewer are compatible with the 12-inch model. Compatibility should therefore be confirmed before installation.
