PRO-JECT EVO 10CA PREMIUM Tonearm

The Pro-Ject EVO 10CA PREMIUM tonearm is offered in a black (10CA Premium Black) or Chrome (10CA Premium HG) finish. It features a “hybrid” headshell and arm tube made from a single piece of carbon fiber sandwiched with an aluminum tube. Pro-ject uses the best characteristics of both materials, rigidity and resistance.

The carbon tube is held in place by a single screw. It allows the rotation of the latter and refine the adjustment of the azimuth. The arm tube shows a conical profile which avoids standing wave reflections. Four stainless steel spikes mounted on quality Swiss ABEC 7 ball bearings form the bearings of this inverted gimbal arm. The arm bearing housing is ring type. The massive outer hoop is open to avoid resonance.

The new counterweight is damped with new damping in order to effectively combat unwanted resonances in the arm tube. It turns on a worm screw to provide a precise adjustment. It is not equipped with a graduated ring, so the pressing force must be carried out using a digital scale.

The arm base is made of solid aluminum. It allows precise adjustment of the arm height and vertical angle (VTA). The effective length of the arm is 10" (254 mm) and its effective mass is 8.5 g. The counterweights provided make it possible to adapt cells with a mass of 6 to 14 g.

The internal wiring consists of high purity silver cables from the read head to the gold plated Din male plug sockets. Silver is the best conductor, its low resistance and capacitance makes it perfect for weak signals from MM and even more so MC cells. Silver produces a livelier sound and offers more definition, nuance and harmonic richness.

This connection is the standard 5-pole DIN Phono connection.
