The Transparent The MusicWave Plus G6 speaker cable is the third model in the American manufacturer's HP range. While often associated with cables that cost as much as a nice car or a suburban apartment, the MusicWave Plus remains relatively affordable.
TRANSPARENT THE MUSICWAVE PLUS G6: DESIGN
Like most Transparent products, it incorporates a noise rejection circuit (box) and offers meticulous and flawless construction. Transparent Cable engineers believe that cables can essentially act as antennas and thus limit bandwidth at certain frequencies.
The design ensures that nothing but the audio signal passes through the cable.
The conductors used are solid oxygen-free copper, with a purity of 5N. Their 3mm² diameter ensures a wide bandwidth and strong performance in the lower spectrum. The twisted pair construction cancels noise and provides excellent mechanical stability.
Transparent recommends Gold-plated spade connectors. Personally, I clearly prefer these as they provide excellent clamping force and optimum contact.
This speaker cable is covered and protected by a high-quality black nylon jacket, giving it a premium appearance.
TRANSPARENT THE MUSICWAVE PLUS G6: INTEGRATION
The MusicWave Plus speaker cable, like all cables from the manufacturer, is directional. Arrows indicate the direction, which is quite obvious because the box should be on the speaker side.
It is relatively flexible and has a reasonable mass, making it easy to integrate into a high-performance Hi-Fi system.
TRANSPARENT THE MUSICWAVE PLUS G6: TESTING AND LISTENING
As always with Transparent Cable, there's a superb bass response. The lows are deep, very articulate, and perfectly detailed.
The overall sound reproduction is physical and highly dynamic. The entire audible spectrum benefits from excellent transparency. The noise floor is very low, highlighting all the details and information present in the recording.
There is also a beautiful, precise, and realistic soundstage. Musicians are very present, especially voices, which are positioned at the right height between the Hi-Fi speakers!
The sound reproduction is very neutral and musical. There's no aggression or frustration.
