Musical Surroundings Fozgometer V2

The Musical Surroundings Fozgometer V2 is the unique tool for optimizing the azimuth of an MM or MC cartridge to achieve the best possible reproduction from your Hi-Fi system. The azimuth of the cartridge is a key parameter for obtaining a precise and stable stereo image and, of course, a better soundstage.

The new V2 model is characterized by greater sensitivity, higher precision, a new analog indicator, and the ability to use an external power supply in addition to the 9V battery.

Today's Line Contact and Micro Line diamonds have a much smaller contact area with the groove compared to classic elliptical diamonds, which necessitates finer adjustment. Correct azimuth alignment ensures the best channel separation and balance, resulting in exceptional sound and soundstage.

Without the Fozgometer V2, this adjustment is done "by eye" or with an oscilloscope, an AC voltmeter, or a computer program… These methods are complex and not easily accessible for many.

The Fozgometer V2 integrates a highly sensitive "log ratio detector."

This allows for the measurement of the cartridge’s channel separation and balance.

MUSICAL SURROUNDINGS FOZGOMETER V2: USAGE

It is necessary to have a test record that generates 1 kHz sine waves for both left and right channels, a 1 kHz sine wave for the left channel only, and a 1 kHz sine wave for the right channel only.

This is provided by the Analogue Productions Ultimate Test LP.

Connect the supplied external power supply to the Fozgometer V2 and connect the left and right RCA connectors of your turntable's phono cable.

You can also connect the Fozgometer V2 to the output of your phono preamplifier when using an optical cartridge with an equalizer and power supply.

Use the Analogue Productions Test LP and follow the instructions in the Fozgometer V2 manual.
