This Goldring E3 MM cartridge is the most elaborate phono cartridge offered by the Anglo-Saxon manufacturer. Even though it is manufactured under technical specifications in Japan, the Goldring E3 MM cartridge fully respects the philosophy of Goldring. The “E” range is designed to accurately reproduce the original recording, while maintaining the nuances and dynamics. The Goldring E3 has been optimized to be compatible with tonearms models with medium effective mass that are found on the majority of “vintage” vinyl turntables, entry level and mid-range turntables. Franck
The Goldring E3 is manufactured with an aluminium fiber reinforced cantilever combined with a glued elliptical stylus (0.3 x 0.7 mil). It makes it possible to obtain remarkable results on the majority of entry level and mid-range vinyl turntables.
The 3 Goldring cartridges of the “E” range are equipped with the “Magnetic Duplex Technology™”. The generator receives a double magnet (one per channel) which makes it possible to obtain a better channel separation, a better soundstage and dynamics. Micro adjustments can be made during the manufacturing of the MM cartridges of the “E” range. This is made possible by using an adjusting screw. This allows to safely install the cartridge on any standard vinyl turntable because the angle (azimuth) that the stylus makes with the surface of the vinyl disc has been preset. The result is an optimized balance between the channels, with 0 degree of adjustment.
The assembly is simplified by brass threaded inserts which receive the screws. This Goldring E3 MM cartridge makes it possible to update and optimize quality vintage turntables or modern mid-range turntables. Its reasonable price and versatility are the main strengths of the Goldring E3 MM cartridge. It offers a remarkable performance in terms of dynamics, transparency, and precision. In terms of coherence, neutrality, and clarity the Goldring E3 MM cartridge is better than the Goldring E2 MM cartridge. The surface noise level is also clearly inferior, which gives it an interesting refinement and nuance. This Goldring E3 MM cartridge is certainly one of the best choices in this range. It is the perfect alternative to the Ortofon 2M Red MM cartridge or the Audio Technica VM 520 EB MM cartridge.
